Arizona sheriff faces federal allegations of discrimination against Latinos

Known as “America’s toughest Sheriff,” some have criticized Sheriff Joe Arpaio for what they felt to be a vendetta against Latino families.   Arpaio is known for taking a hard line against criminal offenders, as well as those who are in the country illegally.  His work has won praise from the right and criticism from the left.
