When the brick crashed through her bathroom window and somebody began kicking in her front door, the 19-year-old single mother of
two in Milwaukee dialed what are supposed to be the most trustworthy three numbers.
“I called 911 for help,” she later said in court. “I didn’t call 911 to be the victim.”
Within minutes, two police officers responded. One took her 15-year-old brother outside to speak to him. The other cop, Police Officer Ladmarald Cates, gave her boyfriend $10 and told him to go the store and get some water. She told him that he was welcome to chilled water from her refrigerator.
“I only drink bottled water,” Cates said.
Her boyfriend has a pronounced limp and set off with no promise of returning soon. Cates asked to see the broken window and she led him down a narrow hallway to a bathroom in the back. She felt sure that jealous neighbors had attacked her happy home because she dared to defy what seemed surely to be her fate as an inner-city teenage single mom.
“I wanted to be a good example to my kids,” she would later say. “I wanted to learn something, be somebody.”
She had returned to high school as a mother of two and after graduation she had continued on to the University of Wisconsin, where she was studying criminal justice with the thought of becoming police officer or a lawyer.
“I thought I was going pretty good,” she would recall.
She now stood on a floor littered with broken glass and pointed to the brick. The cop she had summoned to protect her instead chose this moment to grab the back of her head by her hair and sodomize her. Then he raped her.

I’m not surprised at all . Cops can be exactly what we hire them to protect us from . I hope she fired her punk ass boyfriend .
Off topic: Somebody please explain to me in your opinion why young women feel the need to have babies even before they can start their own life and then shack up with another worthless young man ???

Why are you attacking her boyfriend, what could he have done, get killed or have a fight with police and go to prison. Remember the police are to serve and protect and we pay them. Stick to the issue when you reply. This is about criminals(the police)using a badge and the system to commit their crimes.

why did you think the cop gave him $10 ? for a bottle of water ? , he was played . His presence might have prevented this incident . No I wasn’t implying he should fight a cop its awful hard to commit rape with a witness in the room.

Many young women have not had good father figures in their lives. The firstthing they tell themsleves is that if/when they have chidlren the father will be there, then they meet MR wonderful who shows them some inititial kindness or attentiton that they never got and they feel it is what is going to be great for them and their family. These young ladies do not know what it is like to have a healthy male female relationship because they have yet to see one. As anything people go on their imagination and then the game begins as one child after another is born because ususally the man who comes along feels he has to lie to lay with her by telling her he wants her to have his baby. The matter is made worse as one leaves and another replaces him and then the situatiton repeats itself thorughout generations. the cycle has to be broken and there is not enough decent men willing to step up and show these young girls who can be helped what the love of a real man is like. The same goes for men who do not have a mothers gentle love and a fathers example of being a man. How can anyone expect someone to be productive and realize what they deserve when they do not know how or what to expect or even see it as a possibility? This cop/man is who he is and he saw opportunity and took it- for some reason he must have thougth he would get away with it-maybe he has before!

This is exactly why I do not trust police officers AT ALL. Although some of them are good cops and do not partake in corruption…ALL of them and I do mean EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE, will cover for the next officer. Even if they feel in their gut that the officer is wrong. This man’s partner needs to be ashamed of himself for not intervening. Here this girl is running out of the house all disoriented, his partner had no bruises or anything. If she had attacked him, how did he not have any bruises. And what did he say he was doing inside the house, while she was outside. If he was inside the house while she was outside, there had to have been a reason. Either she hit him (which would have cause some type of bruise) or the MONSTER was putting his clothes back on. His partner has not heard the last of this because God does not like ugly. God bless this young lady and no matter if she had kids out of wedlock or not, that is not the issue. She is doing the right thing by trying to raise her children the best she knows how, and here you are trying to make her the villain.

You’re right in regards to the other officers being just as despicable as the one who did the deed . this touch upon something I was discussing with a friend about young women girl actually only after burdening themselves with children then they want to go to school start a career why not delay having kids until after you get your life together

I hope that ex-Officer Cates is afforded the same treatment in prison that he gave to this young lady and his other victims.
