Newark Mayor Cory Booker to Appear on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’
Cory Booker obviously needs to turn attention away from his controversial remarks on Meet the Press this past Sunday, and what better way to do that than
to appear on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter.’
An episode featuring Cory Booker will air on Sunday, May 27th at 9PM, so we can only assume that it was taped prior to the controversy. Still, it will be good for Booker to be able to tout a network appearance that undoubtedly casts him in a favorable light.
Oprah Winfrey is almost as big a fan of Cory Booker as she is of President Barack Obama. She has reportedly donated millions to Booker’s campaigns as well as his Newark school initiative.
Cory Booker recently appeared on ‘Meet the Press’ in the role of Obama surrogate, but put his foot in his mouth by saying, “I’m not about to sit here and indict private equity,” and “If you look at the totality of Bain Capital’s record, they’ve done a lot to support businesses — to grow businesses. And this to me, I’m very uncomfortable.”
