Police have identified the man seen eating another man’s face while high on drugs. The man has been identified as 31-year old Rudy Eugene. Eugene was shot and killed while attacking a homeless man and eating away at his face. When the police officer told him to stop, he just looked at him and growled, and continued to chew at his face, through his jaw. Officers had to shoot him several times to get him to stop eating.
The man is in extremely critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Much of his face is gone and his eyes are gouged.
“We’re hoping that he pulls through, for his well-being, but also so he can tell us what happened,” said Sgt. Javier Ortiz, vice president of the Miami police union. “Only he knows.”
The victim has not been identified. The scene occurred off the MacArthur Causeway in Miami. A man on a bike saw the attack take place and an officer tried to intervene with his loudspeaker.
“The guy just stood, his head up like that, with pieces of flesh in his mouth. And he growled,” said Larry Vega, a witness.
Eugene married Jenny Ductant in 2005 in Hollywood. They were divorced two years later.
“I wouldn’t say he had mental problem but he always felt like people was against him . .. No one was for him, everyone was against him,” his ex-wife told WPLG.
Eugene only had one arrest that suggested violence. He was charged with battery at the age of 16, and the charge was later dropped. He was arrested several more times later, but mostly on trespassing and marijuana possession.
An emergency room doctor at Jackson Memorial speculates that the attack could have been caused by bath salts, a drug named after the product because of the resemblance. Police also think that perhaps Eugene was experiencing “cocaine psychosis,” where the body is so hot that the victim gets naked in order to cool off.

This is a definiet sign that the devil is is reeking havic on our world. I have never in all my 47 years ever heard of a person eating someone and their still alive. People are laughing and i guess in a sense it is funny cause wth, but it’s serious out there. No drugs were found in his system except weed so why every time something happens thats so horrible it must it has to be Drug’s. The man had to be psychotic, deranged, insane one or all. That’s not normal and that’s not god. The end is near judgemnet day is coming sooner than we think better make sure your mess is right with god cause he’s gonna know why!Lord have mercy on us all!

Not only was Jeffery eating black men but he was having s*x wih them and killing them storing them in the refridgerator. I dont remember hearing him being called a cannibal or that it was drug related. But come on people you know they have different names and everything else when a black person does anything. It’s either related to drugs, or it’s just them N doing theirselves in again. People dont think no better of our race because a lot of us show them just what they been saying all along. How can we prove we not animals or the bad seed spawned from satan him self if that what we show and how we act. That’s a whole nother situation and conversation that will never be resolved.

I don’t feel bad that he’s dead…..he should be. Why allow someone that would do something so horrible live? He would have only ended up in jail or at some mental institution on the tax payers dime. His brain can still be studied. Black or white this is not a racial issue. Demons don’t deserve to live.

I’ve never heard of any man doing something like this but Jeffery Dahmer.. Let alone a BLACK man!!! This is a horrific outrage! And why did those police officers KILL HIM!!?? It’s obvious that keeping him and his victims alive should of been the 1st pripority, and it would help us as a society to study this man or the drug to get some answers as to why this happen!.
He had little background to violence and no serious drug offences so why is he dead? I would of loved to studied this man myself( from a distance, of course!) my name isnt “Clairisse” either but this is sure the he’ll of “Silence of The Lambs”! …
He must of been “taken over” to demons, that is for sure.

totally agree with Laliani they had no intention on keeping that man alive to find out any information. to find out what was the reasoning for any of that maddness.When it comes to our people it’s shot to kill and make up a story later. It’s happened too many times to say different. But in all fairness to theeeee officer he probably was so in disbelief at what was happening and what he was seeing he just shot. He wouldnt stop and maybe that is the only way that officer felt he could stop him. I mean would you have gotten too close where he culd of possible tried to bite or eat you. God that sounds crazy “bite or eat you”.

I don’t understand why the police didn’t taser Eugene. It seems that Eugene was unarmed, not threatening the police. No doubt it was a horrific scene, and probably scary, too. To know what drove him to such behavior, would have been helpful.

As horrific and gruesome as this was by this young Black man it is not the first time that something as terrible as this has happened in this country. The facts: Jeffrey Dahmer, a young White man, committed cannibilism just as horrific and his victims were mostly young and poor Black males who were given sleep inducing drugs and their G*******a was ingested and eaten by Dahmer after having had s*x with them. I know this because I worked on the story for NBC News. Notice that I used the term “victims” too because Dahmer stalked and coerced a number of young Black men just like a vampire in a horror movie would have done. We need to get to the bottom of what caused this young Black man to commit this horrible act and make sure it is stopped at its source.

In the eighties, there was a drug called angel dust and later called love boat. This drug caused a baby to baked in an oven on Thanksgiving. The mother never knew what had happened. Communities need to get together to stamp out drug abusers. All users are not abusers, the pushers are abusers too. This young man did not get the drug from his local pusher, he got it from a bigger source. Where are the authorities when the drugs are being smuggled in to these communities. Where are the people who know about the distribution. On drugs? Scared? Where?

There are all of these “new drugs” around, these over-the-counter substances that people are using to get high that actually cause extreme psychotic behaviors in people. I have heard about bath salts and others, like the artificial marijuana that is having psychotic effects on people as well.
If this man WAS using one of the new get-high substances, his behavior would make a lot of sense, based on the reports I’ve seen and read.
