Body Found Near Home of Surgeon Accused of Killing His Girlfriend

A body was found near the home of Dr. Timothy Jorden, a trauma surgeon who is accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend at work and killing her.  Dr. Jorden has been the subject of a nation-wide manhunt since the incident took place earlier this week in Buffalo, NY.

Jacqueline Wisniewski was shot in a stairwell at the Erie County Medical Center.

The body found near Dr. Jorden’s home has not yet been identified.  But law enforcement officials believe it could be Dr. Jorden.  SWAT searched the man’s home for hours after the incident.

“It’s terrible,” said Tom Wrzosek, a neighbor of Jorden’s. “It’s a tragic situation. Nobody wins in a situation like this.”

Wrzosek said that he heard a single gun shot while he was walking his dog Wednesday morning.  He said he thought nothing of it at the time, but police now believe it may have been Dr. Jorden killing himself.   The woman who was killed allegedly told her friends that Dr. Jorden was stalking her after the end of their relationship, and that she feared for her life.  He even put a GPS tracking device on her car.

Dr. Jorden earned a medical degree at the University of Buffalo and trained with the Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington.
