Charlie Sheen Denies that He’s the One Who Bought Lawrence Taylor’s Super Bowl Ring

Actor Charlie Sheen denies that he’s the secret buyer of the Super Bowl ring of the great Lawrence Taylor.  Sheen was accused of buying the 1991 Superbowl ring for $450,000.   Taylor won the ring in a 20-19 championship game against the Buffalo Bills in Tampa, Florida.  He’d passed the ring onto his son, Lawrence Taylor Jr.

“Don”t know for sure but that is what we were told,” Taylor’s agent tweeted in response to the rumors.  This tweet set off speculation that Sheen was the buyer.  Sheen has already purchased Babe Ruth’s 1927 World Series ring.

“RE: Lawrence Taylor”s Ring: As much as I would be honored to own such an important artifact (sic)… I had nothing to do with the acquisition,” Sheen said on his blog.
