“Witness 9″: Zimmerman’s Ex-Girlfriend Says He Has “Racist Ideologies”

George Zimmerman’s bond hearing this morning isn’t just about bond. Yes, Zimmerman’s defense team is presenting evidence to support the theory that he’s not a flight risk, and that all his money he raised via PayPal donations is accounted for, but there’s also another story that’s flying under the radar. Zimmerman’s attorney, Mark O’Mara, is trying to seal statements from “Witness 9″, a woman believed to be Zimmerman’s ex-girlfriend, who says Zimmerman has “racist ideologies”.  O’Mara believes the release of her statement would be bad for his client, and doesn’t want it out:

George Zimmerman is back in  court today for a new bond hearing.

Zimmerman’s  team has already called a ”forensic financial specialist”,  Adam Magill, to the stand to testify about an evaluation he performed of Zimmerman’s finances. He testified that Zimmerman collected a little over $205,000 minus fees, with much of the money being handed  over to the legal team.

Magill testified that although the money was transferred several times, it was accounted for.

Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara also revealed during the hearing that he wants to seal statements from “witness 9″, Zimmerman’s ex-girlfriend, who said he has “racist ideologies.” O’Mara believes the release of her statements to the public would be prejudicial to his client.

Lawyers for local and national media companies argue they are public records and should be released. The hearing is currently underway and the judge has not ruled on the matter.
