The job of a high school basketball coach is usually twofold: 1) to provide good athletic training 2) to provide a good role model. Coaches aren’t necessarily there to be friends and homies to their students, but to provide guidance.
A coach in California made the mistake of confusing his students with his friends when he let them smoke weed with him on their way to a field trip. The coach allegedly allowed the students to smoke marijuana on the way to the field trip and on the way home:
A baseball coach at John F. Kennedy High School was arrested Monday on suspicion that he smoked marijuana with high school students before and after
a trip to Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles Police officials said.
Pedro Cruz Trujillo, 24, of Los Angeles, was booked on six counts of child endangerment Monday, a month after a staff member at the school overheard students discussing the incident and notified police.
Trujillo allegedly took a few of the students to a Dodgers game and allowed them to smoke marijuana en route and on the way back.
Trujillo is being held on $100,000 bail.
