NewsFlash for the Tea Party: Corporate Welfare is Far Greater than Social Welfare

It seems that the Tea Party is forgetting to mention one thing during its rants about the cost of welfare:  Corporate welfare is far greater than social welfare.  Many of those who seem to think that helping the poor, single mothers or the elderly is wasteful turn a blind eye to massive amounts of waste that exists when it comes to what we do for corporations.

You wouldn’t know it by listening to the Tea Party, but the U.S. government spends more on corporate subsidies than it does on social welfare programs. The traditional theory pushed by Republicans is that cutting social programs is the way to prosperity, but that can’t be true since the bulk of spending is tied up in corporate welfare.
