Nomalanga: We Need to Support Black Fathers, Especially the Good Ones

Nomalanga Mhauli-Moses recently wrote a column for YourBlackBloggers.net.  In the column, the reigning Mrs. Botswana stated that African Americans should work harder to support black fathers, and not just criticize them when they do something wrong.  She talks about the importance of black fathers and mentions how, in her home country, black men are incredibly important.

Today is the day that we celebrate fathers all over the world. It seems that we so often focus on how challenging it is for modern day mothers who are still expected to attend to all the needs of their children and yet are now also trying to succeed in their careers.  While I have first-hand knowledge of the complexities of being a modern day working mother or just a modern day mother, period, I have an ever increasing level of compassion for the modern day Father, especially the Black father.

    Kudos
i agree that our black fathers need much support
in america seems like family courts have made our black fathers feel like the enemy of our own children.
we much endure for the sake of our culture community and our children
