Writer Erica Kennedy, best known for her books Feminista and Bling, has died, according to family. No details are yet available as to the
cause of her death.
Kennedy was a former writer for the New York Daily News, as well as a publicist. She also wrote for Vibe and a number of other publications.
In 2004 she published a novel about the high stakes world of winner take all hip-hop in her debut novel Bling, which was met with rave reviews and went on to become a New York Times best-seller. Later, she wrote Feminista, which was also met with praise.
