The woman who was set to be married to Rodney King is being looked at with an eye of suspicion from the rest of his family. Cynthia Kelley, who was ironically on the jury in King’s second federal trial that convicted the officers of violating his civil rights, was not invited to King’s funeral by his family. They aren’t accusing her of anything just yet, but some are expressing concerns about her story of how King died.
King appeared to have a troubled life both before and after his infamous beating in Los Angeles many years ago. The 20th anniversary of the incident was just a few months ago, which meant quite a few celebrity appearances, speaking fees and media attention for King. But right after the 20 year mark hit, King was dead in his swimming pool. May he rest in peace.
BlackLikeMoi.com tells more:
Rodney King was set to marry Cynthia Kelley shortly before his death. But TMZ is reporting that Kelley is not going to be invited to Rodney’s funeral, set to take place next week in Hollywood. The family of King hasn’t contacted Cynthia since Rodney died, and they don’t plan to do so anytime [...]

She was a former juror in the case. He got paid, then she decided to get with the brother. Was she an informant for the court? How could the door be locked at his own home, while he was in the pool? I think she had him killed, so she could get his money.
By the way…where’s all that money? He can’t even pay for his own funeral!
THAT HEFFA GOT THAT MONEY!!!

I never thought a funeral was an invitation event. I can understand celebrities having to close funerals due to larger population they draw but… All they thinking about is money. If he didn’t leave a will she gets nothing anyway, and maybe they don’t either…so sad that’s all people think about at such a time.

I smell a money fight coming up. I don’t know what the law is out there about common law marriages, and whether they had live together long enough for the fiance to lay claim to any of his assets. The family could be keeping her at bay because they intend to fight her over his assets. It won’t hurt their case if she is suspected of having a role in his death. Things should be coming out over the next week or so.

Was she at the house? I thought they had talked on the phone? This whole story is sad

I understand the family feelings on this. There are those who feel she may have had a hand in his death. King drowned and there is some question of why this woman who could swim didn’t try to save him. This story reminds me of Gary Coleman of Different Strokes fame and how he died. His so ex-wife/girlfriend watched him bleeding to death after hitting his head then took him off of life support after only one day.

That is about the crueliest thing I ever heard. I bet when he was alive he couldn’t get nothing from his family. Especially once he got broke from trying to take care of everyone

First of all I do not think it is possible for any human to sleep underwater. Why throw a shovel in the pool to wake him up. I am glad there was not an anchor around. I feel as though this is just a reason to explain why the shovel was in the pool.
