Three Men Get Court and Media Attention For Having 78 Kids with 46 Women

Three men in Tennessee are being highlighted in the media for making an unbelievable 78 babies with 46 different women.  The courts are saying that even though these men have an amazing number of kids, none of them wants to pay child support.

Terry Turnage has 23 children with 17 different women, while Richard M. Colbert has 25 children with 18 women. Desmond Hatchett  is the king baby maker with 30 children with 11 women.

Turnage was told to come to court to take responsibility for his children, but failed to show up.  Latoya Shields, who dated Turnage for 8 years, said that she lost it when she found out about all of the other mothers and children.

“During the whole relationship, I only knew of four children,” Latoya told WREG. “At that time, three years ago, my child was the 21st child. Yeah, that would be overwhelming for anybody.”

Turnage recently filed a petition with Shelby County Juvenile Court to get his child support payments lowered, but never came to the hearing.   Shields says that he never shows interest in his daughter.

“She calls him and it’s a ‘hi’ and ‘bye, see you later’ type of situation,” she said.

She says that she only gets between $6 and $9 checks in child support, when she gets anything at all.   Desmond Hatchett, the 33-year old from Knoxville with 30 kids by 11 women, pays about $1.49 per month.

We won’t bore you by telling you more details of these deadbeats.  We would rather encourage you to watch the interview with Etan Thomas (below), who wrote a book about the great fathers in the African American community.  The three men in this article are nothing like the rest of us.

During slavery time, black men were encouraged to have as many babies with as many black women as possible to show how wealthy the plantation owner was. Wealth was determined by how many slaves you owned. Since that time, there are still black men with that mentality (even some of the married men). The only way this can change is that the mindset changes from birth to adulthood. For girls, that their bodies are precious and they also have brains that need to be utilized to be successful. The boys need to be given the same message. They both need to know the history of slavery in the true sense and how it relates to today’s problems. Any children born today, if not given what they need (parental love, acceptance, education, discipline, etc.), will only be caught up in the cycle of slavery. Slavery takes many forms, from drugs to s*x. And occasionally, to prison. For every black child that is born and doesn’t get what they need, the possibility that they end up in some form of slavery grows exponentially. Education is the key to the lock on those chains!

Educated nephew, Ivy League, married with two children. Ten other children by three different women.

In addition to “education,” we must insist they are aware of their slave history and stop repeating it. No one teaches that.

Most of these women are just as guilty has these men for laying up with them. No doubt they weren’t employee when they met them and knew they had children.

HEY like Grady said on Sanford and Son, Mama baby Papa MAYBE but hope these children grow up and be something great in life and maybe forgive the father for the deed they have done in life, to remember Papa was a rolling stone.

The problem is there is no concept of “shame” in the Black community. Having a bunch of kids out of wedlock isn’t a good look. Being a single mother isn’t a good look. Having a bunch of kids with different women isn’t a good luck. In the Black community, anything goes. That’s the problem.

Prime example of whats wrong with Black America. For what ever reason these men felt as though it was ok to abadon and deny their children.I know the excuse maybe they had no father. To that I say be someone else father be Bill Cosby be the dad from Webster or the Silver Spoon dad.The excuses do not measure up.

If we as a community would stop having babies out of wedlock, it’s safe to say a lot of this would have been avoided.

Instead, we have a new generation of kids that will likely repeat the same cycle.
