It looks like Kimora Lee Simmons is breaking things off with Djimon Honsou after five years together. The two formed one of Hollywood’s power couples, but that relationship is no more.
After a five-year relationship, Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou have reportedly separated, according to the NY Daily News.
An unidentified source claims that both Simmons and Hounsou’s relationship is on the rocks due to money problems. All of these years, the source says that their luxurious lifestyle has been supported by hip-hop mogul and Kimora’s ex-husband Russell Simmons.
According to the source, when Russell decided to put the breaks on his cash, Simmons and Hounsou’s marriage started to crack, “Djimon walked out on Kimora,” says the source, who adds that the split may have been prompted by Simmons’ ex-husband, hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons ’ decision to stop funding the pair’s lifestyle.”
Adding fuel to the fire is Kimora’s recent real estate move: Kimora, the creative director, president of JustFab.com, put her $5.9 million home on the market for just $4.7 million, causing some to think that what the unnamed source is saying is true.
Kimora hasn’t taken the speculation lying down, though. She recently tweeted:
Wow, I put 1 of several properties I own (+ DONT live in) on the market & now apparently my whole life is fallin apart?!” she tweeted. “Rumors, Rumors …”
What Kimora hasn’t publicly confronted, though, is the separation rumors.When asked about the state of her marriage, Kimora’s spokeswoman only responded that “Kimora has a beautiful family life,” obviously fanning the flames some more. For his part, Hounsou hasn’t addressed the rumors either. His rep only said, “Djimon’s been working in Vancouver for the past few months.”
