Crazy and Scary: Military Developing Insect Drones for Spying

Remember that scary stuff you’ve always seen in horror films?  That is about to become real life. The military is creating drones that are the size of mosquitoes.  They will be able to fly into any space, undetected, take pictures and all of that stuff. Maybe we have now entered a Brave New World.

That old saying about being “a fly on the wall” could soon be more than an idle wish. Researchers believe that tiny, flying insect-like drones may be the next big thing in high-tech military surveillance.

For years, scientists have studied nature as an inspiration for technology. Leonardo da Vinci drew plans for a flying machine called and ornithopter with wings that flapped. Even the Wright Brothers drew their inspiration from birds.
