If you give a job several decades of dedicated service and then get shot stabbed on the job, you expect to be able to retire on easy street. Not true for this man, who has been left destitute by the city of New York.
A man who worked for 19 years as a subway worker in New York is now seeing his $1,414 per month pension slashed to just $5 dollars. Perry Kinard was nearly killed twice on the job. In 1978, he was stabbed in the lung while mopping the floors in a Manhattan station. In 1990, he was shot in the chest and head at a station in Queens.
The pension system for the city to which he nearly gave his life is now repaying him by nearly killing his entire pension. They say that he was incrementally over-paid for years and are now going to slice his monthly income to almost nothing.

It’s time to repair the damage done to Blacks, from Slavery, unfair laws that target Blacks, unfair houseing, lowiest pay of all workers on a job, out sourceing old jobs, for bringing in other races to replace us on jobs, the war on drugs (war on blacks) and now giveing Mexicans amnesty to do as they please, Wrong way drivers who kill wetbacks
Reparations no more programs run by Jessie or al.

First, the ACLU the NAACP don’t get involved with Black peoples issues anymore unless Fox and all the other News agencies get involved. So with that said, not only shoud this man be paid, but all black men and women who has been getting screwed over sence September 22, 1862, my bad the last Slaves were so called freed June 19,1865. Reparations should’ve been paid in full then but our Preachers said wait and don’t cause trouble. Well every other race has came to this Country has benifited without being a slave. Blacks have always paid cash for everything. Sometime two time more so others could enjoy CREDIT. We are all owed.

Do we even know if this man was rewarder for getting hurt on the job twice? Did the city take care of him then? If not, WHY NOT? And why didn’t this news hit front page no matter what color he is? Yes, for those who let this go on for 19yrs are responsible for this error and should have to pay a penalty. When you receive a check for years, you know that it is right. THE SUPERVISOR who handed him the check should have known that something was wrong if it is too much or more than the others. What about his W2 FORM? Even when he filled out his taxes. This is the BIG CITY OF NEW YORK. It has to be a office full of as***holes, and they should been fired for stealing from the city. They are the ones who should have to pay. If you check their payroll for the last 19yrs and find out who else benefited from this ((ERROR)). It sounds like a cover up to me. Now it is time to check the payroll from all the finanual office workers. Find out how many others were over paid.

The bottom line is WE NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO OUR PAYCHECKS, BECAUSE IF WE GET A FEW MORE DOLLARS ON OUR CHECK AND WE THINK IT IS A COMEUP, IT WILL BITE DOWN THE ROAD.Saw it at a phone company where I worked, woman was getting supervisor salary and she was not, retirement time comes and overpayment needs to be repaid and it is when she needed it most,my current job overpaid a lot of people (mistakenly)after a transition and when people saw thousands in their accounts some went on spending sprees, because as one woman said she thought it was the back child support from her ex that was going into her account, luckily they offered a payment plan so it was easier that not getting paid for a couple of months if they had taken all in a lump sum, PAY ATTENTION…..Bottom line

Name bashing, racist remarks is not going to change a thing. Prayer and litigation is the answer. Some say that he does not have a chance of winning a case because he’s a lower income citizen, but with God all things are possible. Prayer does change things.

Has anyone noticed that when it comes to litigation these days, its not who’s right that wins, its’ who ever has the most money. The bigger the business, the more likely they are going to win. It’s even hard to find an attorney to represent a lower income client against a large company because the odds of winning are soooooo lowww and a low income person most likely will not be able to pay an attorney without a win.
………………………………….
This series of incidents for this gentleman are unfortunate but he may lose if he takes it to court because the city is bigger than him and a decision will most likely be written in a way that the city will win no matter who is actually right or wrong. If there was a large enough outcry from the public he MIGHT stand a chance of a settlement that will include his immediate resignation. Now days big business and governments usually always win.

If you work for 19 years, Shouldn’t you have incremental raises. and if he was overpaid the hr department/accounting should be held accountable, Wasn’t somebody auditing, don’t companies like that do audits and why wasn’t that error caught years ago.It seems he was a janitor so he MAY not be as financially savvy, just glad he had a job, worked hard and getting his well deserved raises. I hope the MTA will look into this, but big business usually don’t go back on decisions they make without much public pressure. One would think you work hard and get your pension , I bet if the CEO got those “increments” he would still get his golden parachute…

Clearly folks some of us have not looked into the legal definition of citizen, it means ‘SUBJECT’. With subjects you can do almost anything. Remember the words that define also describe the relationship in reality, good or bad. Let’s be mindful of the way we are defined. It’s critical to surviving on the “Commercial Plantation” referred to as North America. Free your Mind……….

This is another shameful of the powerful against those whom they deemed weak and have no voice. We are told to work hard and play the rules and things will be well. Shame on New York for such a shameful and ungodly actions against one who worked, play by the rules and nearly lost life on the job not once but twice. Thank God there is a God who ultimately bring a just resolution this kind of injustice. In the meantime, we must raise our collective voices and spring into actions to support this brother and his family. Today it’s him tomorrow it might be us>

What do you mean by a lot of Black people don’t want to work? If they don’t want to work, how do they expect to survive, on public assistance? That is a statement that some stupid White person uses when they describe Black people. If a person doesn’t want to work, they are just lazy mother f*ckers. You can’t use the example of this one man’s case, to describe all employment, and as a reason to avoid working. People that are receiving public assistance, are going to be screwed when the republicans take control this fall, and eliminate those food stamps, housing, and other assistance.

Think about it, regardless of how hard you work, report on time and be regular in attendance, the job does not respect that for long. What matters is what have you done for me lately. Go in business for yourself and problem solved.

New York city is notorious for doing grave injustice to its residents, gross mismanagement of financial affairs esp regarding the poor, and just straight crooked inside dealings. As a former long-time resident of NYC, I know this firsthand. This is so NY. I am unfortunately so NOT surprised by this story.
The city often could care less if a person is able to eat or have a place to live. This is a city that even in GOOD TIMES had a homeless population of over 100,000- many of which were working families with children- and although begged and lobbied for decades by advocates of the poor and homeless, refused to build more housing that was affordable to the poor and low-income people. There were a few buildings that were built, and only a small percentage of those buildings’ apartments were designated for low-income earning individuals. There was a lottery system to gain an apartment–so it was the luck of the draw to find a place to live.
What everyone has to understand is that there are live PEOPLE behind this action. Yes, computers monitor and make some changes. But there are still PEOPLE who have to maintain all of these transactions and notify recipients, and get approval from management.
The “system” that people have spoken so much about over the years is designed to keep chaos in action to keeps people from creating strongholds of personal power.
I shudder when I think about the number of people in church every Sunday who are in positions of power and impose some of the rules that oppress people, without an ounce of compassion. Who are these people?
But there is a Jesus, a God who will return one day and judge ALL, and take those who are called by His name into eternal Joy and wonderfulness that man has never dreamed of.

NEEDS to be sued … the city should be drawn and quartered! That old fellow nearly gave his life for his job more than once and they expect him to live on Six bucks a month. The city officials who arranged this should be locked up. Are they on crack??? That’s insane!
Now I’m so roaring mad I think I’m going to wander off and start a petition to the City of New York to restore his pension so he can at least EAT!

This is nothing more than a cheap cop-out for the city. They did this hoping he would get mad and resign. They want to get rid of him because of his injuries. ……… The idiots probally thought they would save money by paying him a settlement and force him to resign, however the idiots did not calculate into the equasion that he may now stay longer because he would make more than $5 a month by continuing to work. They are such idiots. Wrong Wrong Wrong. God is Much bigger than the devil in the details…..

First, they knew they had paid this man too much money, if that is the case. What seems to be the problem is that the person or persons they are sending to kill this man is not dying. Therefore, because of his age, plus his physical medical condition, he just might commit suicide, and they will not have to take the money, it can now be split among the administration, management and other workers involved.
Second, the best thing he can do is to call Willie Gary, and say “H__________________elp!!! They would have done this another even if they were poor White, Hispanic, or any other race, but not the super wealthy. They should be called in on the carpet, sued, and made to pay restitution to this man, or any other person who may have been done wrong by the City.
The bottom line always double check to see if all is correct, because it might turn into a horror story for you.

The people who run the cities everywhere in the USA are full of garbage and have proven that they are not human. This man’s Pension should be an easy $4,000.00 a month for being stabbed and shot. He was almost killed twice working on your watch and now you want to take his livelihood? They need to be sued; he needs to sue the foolery out of them.
