Maria Lloyd: Do Black Women Really Want Respect from Rappers?

by Maria Lloyd

On Reason4Rhymes.com, Maria Lloyd questions whether black women really want respect from rappers.  People were talking just this morning about comments by the artist Lil Wayne about the importance of respecting women, even though he’s made multiple songs blatantly disrespecting women.  Says Maria Lloyd:

I ran across an article written by blogger Bené Viera discussing her disappointment with rappers’ infatuation with white women. She highlights her sadness for the loss of “real” hip-hop that actually reflected the issues of the black community instead of glorifying rendezvous with white women and degrading black women.  She also mentions that she doesn’t have a problem with rappers being attracted to white women, but wants hip-hop to love its black women the way they love it. She makes valid points, but I must admit that I don’t have the slightest interest in how rappers view black women. Why? Because they’re not talking about me. In fact, they’re not talking to me either because I don’t listen to their music.

According to Zondervan’s Compact Bible Dictionary listed under Ham it defines as such: The youngest son of Noah, born probably about 96 years before the Flood; and one of eight persons to live through the Flood. He became the progenitor of the dark races; not the NEGROES, but the Egyptians, Ethiopians, Libyans and Canaanites

There is 1 description of GOD, the FATHER in the bible (KJV 1611) and 3 descriptions of JESUS CHRIST his SON.

Daniel 7:9 is GOD’s description, and Daniel 10:5-6, Ezekiel 40:3 and Reveation 1,14-15 are JESUS CHRIST descriptions.

The reason we are in the state we are in it’s all biblical, and we don’t even know it. The Black woman in America can’t do what other women do. GOD won’t allow it. WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE WE ARE THE TRUE JEWS. We are the bloodline of JESUS CHRIST the SON OF GOD.

I am in my fifties. My circle of female friends range from the ages of twenty eight to sixty five. Overall rap music does not appeal to them. They are moved by a little tenderness and some respect.

The world is full of so many beautiful songs. Why on earth do people bother to lower themselves to the level where some rap is entertaining?

I believe that I am much too intelligent to be bothered by this nonsense. If rappers like white women, who cares? And as far as I’m concerned, there are many types of black women. The ones that appear in the videos of these idiotic infantile rappers (I personally find Li’l Wayne repulsive. I can’t believe that any woman would want to be associated with him romantically or otherwise. He represents the baser aspect of human nature.) are one sort of female. I am another. Iman is another and so is Oprah and Maya Angelou, and all the ladies (I use that term loosely) on “Basketball Wives”, and Naomi Campbell, and Whitney Houston, and the neighbourhood crackhead…What on EARTH would make me worry that these “Video Hoes” represent me? I’ll admit that I have NEVER listened to a single Li’l Wayne song. I only know of verses of his that have sparked debates online (this in itself confounds me. The man is insignificant. Why make him important???) Why on EARTH would I think that the filth he and his ilk spews is directed at me? WHY?

What does accesories have to do with respecting a grown woman? I am so tired of all the excuses that these men have. There are plenty of sistas that don’t represent themselves that way. For instance many black women are going completely natural. Black women are not the only race of women who wears these items, so you need to do your research before you start throwing out stereotypes. There are plenty of sistas who deserve to be respected because: They are holding down the household by themselves. They are fighting day after day to keep a roof over their families head ( usually because there is a sorry man that won’t do it). They are mentally and emotionally supporting an incarcerated loved one. They are carrying, giving birth, and raising the next generation of men. So how dare you criticize a race of women because her choice of accessories? You are petty and childish. If you want to date another race of women just be a man and own up to it. Don’t make fake nails, hair, butts, b***s or whatever else you said your scapegoat.

Evidently, what I said struck a nerve!

Even your comment about me dating OTHER females is childish and immature just because of the truth I speak.

A real Black lady (not a negro) does not need other “accessories” to be beautiful. You can’t buy love or beauty…that comes with the way you are raised.

Furthermore, I don’t want a negro female wearing all those “accessories” because when she takes them off…LAWD HAVE MERCY!

How can a man make love to a negro female full of silicone, glue and other “accessories” you can use to build a house? She might blow up on me!!!

Read my other post and learn something.

The majority of some negro females, they don’t even respect themselves!

Anytime a negro female puts on fake nails, fake eyelashes, fake hair, fake toe nails, fake breast and now fake butts…something just ain’t right!

Some negro females say b**t injections give them self esteem.

The mindset of the negro female. Get back to BLACK!

“Getting back to being Black” as you call it has nothing to do with your nails or hair. Grouping black women into categories is as wrong as the rap artist, their producers, their labels, and the radio stations that play this garbage everyday/all day. We have become so accepting of this “music” that degrades women that if they were not allowed to play a song with any reference to s*x, guns, drugs, alcohol, strippers or money our urban airwaves would be silent. The bigger problem here is no one sees anything wrong with this music, and it just gets worse everyday.

Sometimes the truth hurts. Negro females still have that slave-like mentality. They ‘think’ being a caucasian or looking like a caucasian will get them accepted into ‘their’ society.

By they way…there is a difference between a negro female and a Black lady.

        Voice your choice!

Derrick, you are an other or a DBR bm. Which ever, I think you are upset b/c a sista don’t want you. period….

And from your statement, well I think you are going to be disappointed with non-bw … lets see, let me run it down for you the world of illusion of non-black women: fake nails, fake eyelashes, fake hair , fake toe nails, fake breast (this is not indicative of bw and you know it) and now fake butts (not indicative to bw and you know it… a couple of nuts but this is clearly a non-black women obsession for implants)….. let see fake hair color….. Derrick did ya not know the majority if not all adult white women last saw their natural hair color as teens? Oh don’t forget fake skin color, fake lips, fake teeth/color (even growing up white class mates would marvel at how my white teeth were— I thought they were crazy), fake cheeks, fake nose (yall people have gone rhinoplasty crazy), fake smile/skin (can anyone say botox, laser resurfacing)—sistas got some banging skin way up into old age. Oh Derrick guest what… the ‘ill na na’. Yep… Did you know it is becoming a trend for ww to get an ‘ill na na’ lift. Man need I go on. You tell me who is freaking crazy and desperate w/low self-esteem. Do the math. Whose list is longer? bw or non-black women? Yeah right. I thought you knew.

By the way AA women have highest self-esteem when compared to other females.

First and foremost, you don’t know NOTHING about me, so for you to say a woman doesn’t want me because I speak the truth is a total mountain of B.S.!!! I have a REAL BEAUTIFUL GODDESS QUEEN, who wears her hair natural and nothing on her is fake!

You negro females hate to hear the truth…plain and simple. You know these are FACTS and the majority of negro females HATE THEMSELVES or they would not be injecting their precious bodies with all these chemi(kills)made in labs by mad white scientist.

Perhaps if y’all would stop eatng all those pork chops, pancakes and sweets maybe you wouldn’t need to scar your bodies with all this fake plastic. I am not concerned with caucasian females because I already know they’re FAKE! My concern is the hatred that negro females (such as yourself) have for REAL BLACK MEN!

Ask any conscious thinking brother and they will tell you that I speak the truth. I love my Black sisters, but this music, materialism, and the feminist movement has f’kd up your minds. Today’s negro females seldom speak or smile at a real Black Brother today, but will skin and grin in front of a caucasian male in a blink of an eye.

If AA women have so much high self esteem, why are they wearing long fake weaves (trying to look like caucasian females), bleaching their skin, marrying these no good white boys (Halle Barry)and acting like fools on tell-a-lie-vision (housewife garbage).

By the way…a real Black lady know where I am coming from…a negro female doesn’t. Which one are you?

        SEE YA!
        THE TRUTH HURTS

Derrick….check out some of these author’s work: Dr. Umar, Dr. Akbar, Dr. Marimba Ani, Dr. Welsing to name a few. A true real conscious brotha don’t have to disparage someone to feel good about self.

This supposed queen of yours, I feel for her. It sounds like you don’t love self. So you can’t love her authentically.

          Peace

I have books by all those authors you mentioned.

Reading is comprehending, but you just didn’t comprehend over Overstand my comment. I think you should go back and re-read it again.

I don’t hate myself or my lady friend and for you to make a statement like that just proves to me that you are a negro fe-male; not BLACK!

A real conscious Brother, such as myself, don’t need to be involved with unconscious thinking people like yourself.

You need to read a book entitled BRAINWASHED [The Secret History of Mind Control] by Dominic Streatfield.

GET BACK TO BLACK and stop acting like a negro!

Son, don’t get it twisted because caucasion
women are some of the most artificial women
on this planet! They spend big, big bucks on
botox, lip injections, breast implants, cheek
fillers, hair extensions, taning salons and now
brazillian b**t lifts. So, I don’t know what
kind of sisters that you are insinuating to be
fake; but Negro, I don’t fall into that category!
No for a fact, that everything about me is real!
You black men are the only race on this planet
that hate your own women and want to blame her
for your failures as a man. If you spend more
time learning how to be a MAN that is responsible
for nationhood building in your own community and being accountable for controlling the economical
flow of dollars now present in the inner cities
and harnessing that money to lift us out of the
present degrading, hopeless situation that we’re
in, you’ll gain more respect as a man, from your
woman, other races and international communities worldwide.
