Fans waiting for a new Outkast album will have to wait a little longer. Andre “3000″ is making a return to the big screen as Jimi Hendrix
in an upcoming movie about the legendary musician’s life called, “All Is By My Side.”
But Andre won’t be covering any of Hendrix’s music. Hendrix’s estate, “Experience Hendrix”, won’t give the film approval to use the guitar great’s music.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, the film is set in London in the 1960′s, so to make up for the lack of Hendrix tunes, you’ll hear music by The Beatles, Muddy Waters and other artists from the time. The film will also include covers that Hendrix performed prior to the release of “Are You Experienced.”
Andre 3000 will perform renditions of the Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” Muddy Waters’ “Mannish Boy,” and Chip Taylor’s “Wild Thing” and “Hound Dog,”
The film is being produced by Sean McKittrick who hopes to screen the movie at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013, and eventually release it in theaters.
Andre 3000 has appeared in films including “Idlewild,” “Four Brothers,” “8 Mile,” and “2 Fast & Furious.”

Im very disappointed to hear this. I was hoping this will be another Ray with Jammie Fox, The performance with Jammie Fox was great but what made the movie so special was all that great music from Ray Charles. The makers of this movie better get it done, pay the money or something, I won’t want to see the movie with out his music.
