Publicity Stunt? Chris Brown Not Retiring, Wasn’t Arrested

Twitter kills off more celebrities than cocaine and heroine combined. It also does a pretty good job of spreading false rumors about what they’re up to, which we saw first hand with the rumor that Chris Brown was arrested for gun possession shortly before BET Awards.

And oh, this isn’t Brown’s last album, he just said it was his “last”, but his reps now say he didn’t mean it:

Thanks again to Twitter for publishing more false news stories. According to news in the Twitter-sphere, not only was Chris Brown  arrested last night at the Shrine Hotel, where the BET Awards were being held, but also retiring.

The rumor stated that he was arrested for carrying a handgun to protect himself from any drama that could ensue between him and rap rival, Drake. Brown’s publicist put that rumor to rest saying that they were with Brown the entire evening.

Despite the drama, Brown performed two songs, “Turn Up the Music” and “Don’t Wake Me Up” in sexy metallic body paint. Brown also won two awards that evening, one being Best Male R&B Singer as well as Entertainer of the Year.
