Elementary School Teacher Compares Student to Orangutan
A Florida teacher who took to Facebook and compared a student to an orangutan could possibly lose her teaching license.
“I’m fairly convinced that one of my students may be the evolutionary link between orangutans and humans,” the teacher said on the social networking site. The child to whom she was referring is not white. The comment received a few responses including one asking her to reveal to whom she was referring.
“W.W. Does that help?” she responded.
The teacher immediately deleted the thread, after another school official asked what the comment was all about–but not soon enough. The mother of the child who was the subject of the conversation learned of the thread and made a copy of the exchange.
The child’s mother, Lisa Wade, said she is “disgusted with how they talked about my child. It hurts.” She reached out to her local tv news station about the incident. “I send my child to school trusting them to teach him,” she said. “Not to talk about him.”
The principal of the school has referred the incident to the state’s Department of Education’s Office of Professional Practices, which will investigate the case, and could rule to revoke the teacher’s license.

When these things happen the victims should start on-line petitions against these idiots. If the school board gets a box of signed petitions it will enable them to come to a speedy decision against this ‘woman’.

I grew up in a predominately white town and the teachers did treat me differently. They told me I was not smart; asked dumb questions about my wooly hair; cut me off when talking or snickering when I made a mistake during an oral presentation. These kinds of acts take a toll on a young kids mind…thank God for my mother who was always involved in every little detail of our lives. Not only did she set these teachers an school officials straight, She taught us African American history and we took that knowledge to our schools. We fought to be heard as a people and challenged the lies that were fed to us in the history books. Today I am a mother of two young men and I’m very much involved in their schools. I get flack from some teachers but I get in their face and tell them I’m not going anywhere so you’ll have to deal with me or quit the profession. The objective of teachers is to prepare the youth for a successful future. If they fail to achieve that objective, what good are they? Just my humble opinion.

@Derrick, church brother, I agree with you 1000%. I would love to establish a community based with exclusive black store owners, as well as an educational cornerstone for OUR CHILDREN. Soooo very tired of putting my hard earned money into the pockets of those that hate our GUTS because of the color of OUR SKIN!!!! AS well as being soooo very p****d that our children are subjected to racist individuals that claim to be instructors. No one on this blog would appreciate anyone calling their child a MONKEY. That is not appropriate….! .

But, I must tell you that I am not a ‘church’ brother. I haven’t been to an entertainment center (church) in 10 years!
We must remember that a church is nothing, but a building. It’s the people that are inside the building, who ARE THE CHURCH!
As we can see today, some churches are full of pedophiles, pimp preachas, thieves, rapist, church ‘ho’s, sodomizers, liars, cheaters, haters, heathens and hypocrites!

From what I’ve seen on the web, African American children get their first taste of racism from kindergarten to infinity. Hopefully newborns,and kids ages 3 or 4 are exempt from racism. It’s like these BIAS people start attacking our children early so that they won’t believe they can be successful, law abiding citizens. They want blacks in jail so that they can’t vote and they want us to be illiterate. They want to keep those stereotypes of blacks alive to prove their racist parents and grandparents right. Racism is their blood.

Once our children reache school age, that’s when this racist educational system starts to TRAIN them with white supremacy and racism.
These strangers don’t give a d**n about our chilren! I repeat: IF THEY HATE US, HOW IN THE h**l CAN THEY LOVE AND TEACH OUR CHILDREN?
Our children are more intelligent than any culture, but when they start being told, that they were nothing but slaves; that leaves them with no pride.
I get tired of people saying: “when we were slaves”. When are you going to start saying; ‘we will once rule the world again’, then we’ll start striving for excellence. We were the FIRST engineers, doctors, lawyers, and laymen on the planet. Afrikan women introduced astronomy and astrology to the world. The planets once had Afrikan names!
Black Afrikans had caucasians, as slaves for 200 years! They did not treat them, like they treated us when we became enslaved. It was called indentured servitude; they enslaved caucasoids for crimes; not for commercial use. Commericalized slavery, which was the harshest form of slavery, was introduced by caucasoid strangers.
The real reason, why Black men are not in college is because they are being incarcerated for petty b.s. Once they receive a record, they are NO LONGER ELIGIBLE FOR STUDENT LOANS OR GRANTS; not even jobs. This is why there are more Black women in college, than Black men.
This was a plan by this racist system to keep the Black man from taking care of his family, children and himself.

We can stop talking about race when The Congress, Judicial Branch, Executive Branch, Corporations, financial institutions, Wall Street, Public/Private school educators, Religious leaders, Unemployment rates, Prison statistics, Homeless statistics etc., reflect a POST RACIAL SOCIETY, where leadership, wealth, crime and punishment, poverty, is EVENLY distributed throughout the so-called American melting pot.
Ethnic pluralism is an illusion. White females dominate the practice of education historically because they were SHUT OUT of higher education and could only teach at the common school level. There was a time when people of color taught their own children and the General Education Board during post bellum era took control of public education (that was started by ex-slaves) to CONTROL how, when, and what black native children were taught. This paradigm still exists today.
And yes you have bad black teachers too, but they have been taught in the SAME system of white supremacy and racial inferiority.
Black folk need to stop being so overly accomodating. Yes, teachers DO talk about all children who get on their nerves, but they KNOW BETTER than to racial insult white children/affluent children! Poor white trash they don’t care about either because they get away with it because who will stand up and fight them? Same for the black child.
Black children do suffer institutionalized racism whether it is overt or covert in educational settings/environments. First by NEVER learning about themselves and Second by the deep overtones of inferiority.
Black people are you ALIVE out there? Yes we are emotional, because OURSTORY has NEVER truthFULLY been told. And until it does we will continue to suffer spiritually, politically, economically, and INTERNALLY whether some of us drive a Benz or take the bus.
Our children are our future. Black folk don’t need whites to hate us cause have enough hate and embarassment to go around with regard to ourselves. Kill our children in the streets, lock our children up, racially offend them and we just accept it as status quo, like we’re convinced somehow this is WHAT WE DESERVE.
Bullshit. Whites got problems too with their children and even MORE so than we with ours. BUT at the end of the day, THEIR children aren’t gunned down in the street, neither are they being incarcerated through the SCHOOL TO PRISON pipeline, or racially offended in schools, or talked about in a derogatory way

Dan, I see that you don’t understand what Freedom of Speech means. It does NOT mean that anyone can say any hateful thing he /she wants to and get away with it. You can be arrested for screaming, “Fire!” in a theater. People are expected to show some sense and know how to disagree without being disagreeable.

If we are to argue the interpretation of freedom of speech, she is allowed to say whatever she feels she has to say, however this also gives her employer or licensing & accreditation board the option to determine whether that person would be a credible image of education within their institution or licensing.
I would further argue the point of prejudicial treatment and the fact that those points are counter-intuitive to the very nature of being an educational advocate, however given your personal bias, it would be futile to continue discourse.

Good for Lisa Wade! I have a 15 yr. old child who is a good kid. Over the years some of her teachers have become great friends of mine. Believe me when I say teachers do target kids for ALL reasons.
There is an upsurge in this country of racism, and it needs to stop. I don’t care who is doing the hating….Black on white or white on black. it is horrendously sick.
BY THE WAY… I( am NOT the same race as my teacher friends. I am one race…they are ALL the other….

Let’s be real, Derrick’s words were filled with anger, but were still pretty much on point. The school systems in this country are designed for those who are less financially well off…to fail. And we all know due to a long lasting system of racism, that those who are “non-white” suffer the most. Whether they know it or not, the thing whites fear most in this world, is an educated black man. When a brotha gains a little knowledge of self and surpasses stereotypical black male behavior, he is worse than an Atom Bomb! He can then twach truth to other brothas who will then realize how we have been and continue to be horrendously deceived about our true history. Some say, even some of our own, that we need to stop living in the past. Huh? Folks, if you truly don’t know your history, not only are you destined to repeat it, but in this case, you will live forever in darkness and under the corrupt system of a whites run ‘government’ until the end of time. I agree with everything you said, except for the word ‘angry’. I have a right to be ‘angry’ because Black people are still being treated with the utmost of disrespect from these strangers.
Any Black man, woman or child, who is not ‘angry’ at the way we are being treated, betrayed by the media and our health problems, which surpass ALL cultures, then something is wrong with them.

As a parent volunteer in a small school district, the teachers talk in the lounge. They forget since my family has been in this town so long, that the kids they are talking about our my little cousins, my childhood friends children. A comedian said he wasn’t racists, he didn’t like anybody. lol Teachers talk about all of them, and race in not the issue. It is the behavioral stuff that gets on their last nerve versus anything else, in my opinion.

The only way to fight racism from those who are not color blind is with the benefit of doubt and love, not hatred and more racism. ALL white people are not bad. I am African Irish Native American and I have white people in my family, so I wouldn’t go so far as to say that ALL white people are bad, and referring to them as crackers is a sign of hate towards someone else. TWO WRONGS NEVER MAKE A RIGHT. You MIGHT be telling pieces of truth here and there, but for the most part, you are wrong sir. So, are you going to keep going “If you hate me, I hate you.” This is a foolish way to behave, and furthermore, your responses are very un-intelligent. If I were you, I would think of better ways to become color blind.

Umm. ok. Truth is that teachers talk about their students in the teacher’s lounge all the time. Doesnt matter if they’re White, Black or purple. If your kid is trouble, and you are sitting on your a*s an uninvolved parent, your kid is likely to get talked about. People are too d**n sensitive. This teacher should have been more vague to protect herself. She clearly isnt intelligent enough to not identify the student. That was dumb.

When you look at the white boy’s movies the ‘good’ guys wear white, while the Black men wear Black; you even hear it in caucasoid’s language, such as; the words (blackmail, blackball, blackice, etc.), which stand for bad or evil, according to caucasoids.
The only time the color Black is in a positive note is when it is used to represent caucasoid’s businesses. Then and only then, is the color Black labeled as positive. When caucasoids are making money they say they are: IN THE BLACK! This is also True for ‘Black Friday’ after the thanks-taking helladay because Blacks will go spend their money to keep caucasoids bank accounts IN THE BLACK!
Black is a cosmic principle of life and the ONLY color, which perfectly absorbs or accepts ALL wavelengths of light and energy, and ALL ENERGY COMES FROM BLACK GOD!
The uncolor of white reflects or rejects energy and it reflects more light than a mirror! In ancient times in Afrika, Asia and even parts of eu(rope), the uncolor white was used to represent the devil, evil and even death, while BLACK, represented HOLINESS AND THE IMAGE OF GOD!
If you look at ‘white’ caucasoids, they are evil toward ALL people of color, especially BLACK peole. The devil is ‘white’ and this is why the Black Muslims call them ‘blue eyed devils’.
Of course caucasoids have completely reversed this Truth, but there are scriptures to prove that Black represented beauty: Song of Solomon 1:5 reads: “I am black, but comely…”
This word always has a positive meaning in the bible. There are at least seven different Hebrew words used in the bible that refers to “comely”.
The general meanings of “comely” in the bible could be described by words such “BEAUTIFUL”, and “pleasant” and “graceful”. Also, blond hair is ORIGINALLY and NATURALLY from Afrika, where Afrikans, in some regions, have NATURAL blond hair, and is curly like an Afro; not straight!
BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL TO BE BLACK!

Onan, the word “cracker” refers to a white person who controlled the slaves by using a whip. To make them work faster or do what they said they would strike them with a whip which made a cracking sound.

In my experience most Black kids are taught by Black teachers. lol. And the s****y teachers they have are Black. And efforts to reform the school systems are fought by Black parents who are uninvolved in the education of their Black children.
But this is only what I have seen in VA and DC and MD. I havent seen many White teachers in urban schools.

When I spoke up to these caucasoid strangers, I was released from tutoring because they didn’t want me teaching OUR CHILDREN the Truth about their past. The children loved me, and they even asked me; ‘how come they don’t teach us this his-story’ in their classes.
THEY ENJOYED HEARING THEY WERE HEROES AND SHEROES, LEADERS AND RULERS, GODS AND GODDESSESS, PRINCE AND PRNICESSES, WHO ONCE RULED THE WORLD!!!
Nationally, 73 percent of teachers are white, about 8 percent Black, so do the math. You are either an educated slave negro or a dumb azz cauasoid…which one?

Omar, not true that most black children are taught by black teachers. In grade school I had one black teacher and did not have another until college. Of course, this was in the Northern U.S. Maybe, in the South what you say is true.

Back to the article… The teacher should at a minimum be stripped of their license. At the most an official investigation should be launched into the practices and culture if this district as a whole.
