Mariah Carey May Replace J-Lo on American Idol

Mariah Carey seems like she’s been around forever, and hasn’t gained a wrinkle in her 20+ year career.  But eventually, you have to move onto the next stage of your life and she is trying to do that with her new babies, her marriage and being a judge on American Idol.

J-Lo needs a replacement, so why not Mariah?  J-Lo is Latino, and Mariah says that she’s black.  Does she look black to you?  Well, it doesn’t matter what you think, because we’ve heard that Mariah gets highly offended if you try to tell her that she’s not a black woman.  So, could Mariah be the black lady who gets to judge American Idol?  Maybe, but some think that Aretha Franklin would be a better pick.

Mariah Carey may be the next big name judge on American Idol. Mrs Cannon is reportedly in the final stages of negotiations to join the panel of judges on American Idol.

Deadline.com is reporting that if Carey joins the American Idol team, she will earn over $17 million in just one season. This amount surpasses what Idol was paying J-Lo and may even be the highest that any singing competition has ever paid. Britney Spears reportedly earned $15 million for getting on board with “X Factor.”
