Men Claiming to Be Shooting Music Video Tape Themselves Beating Up Random Pedestrians

Your Black World Staff

We hope this is not what hip hop culture is doing to black boys.  Four men were arrested this week claiming to be shooting a hip hop music video.  Instead, they were just taping themselves beating random pedestrians on the street for no reason.  The group calls themselves the Chicago Mavericks, and were shooting a video called “Take a Sip.”

Corry Simmons, Donald Robinson, Edward Robinson and Alvin Goffin are being held at the Cook County jail on a series of charges ranging from aggravated battery, felony mob action, and other charges.  The incident allegedly took place after 1 am Sunday morning when police say the men jumped out of white stretch limos and started beating people on the street.  Someone inside the car was taping the attacks as they took place.

The victims were treated in the hospital, one for a broken jaw.  Simmons was charged with resisting a police officer.  Other men who were part of the attack fled in a limo.  There’s  no word on whether the video is going to be featured on MTV or any other network, since black men acting like a***s usually sells pretty well in hip hop these days.
