There is no way to control the decisions your children make when you’re not around, but when you’re in their company, it is the duty of parents to take control. You know what they say; parents don’t let kids embarrass them in public. And one Mississippi mom wasn’t about to let her son get locked up for trying to commit armed robbery with a toy gun, so when her son pulled out the gun in front of her, she took immediate action:
A Mississippi man’s attempt to rob a convenience store was foiled on Tuesday – by his own mother.
Roy Mitchell, 22, of Flowood, tried to hold up a D’s One Stop Food Mart in Brandon by waving what turned out to be a bogus gun at the clerk while paying for a bag of Doritos.
But before he could make off with the store’s takings, the would-be thief’s mother, Sharron Mitchell, who had followed him into the store, intervened, grabbing the gun from her son’s hands.

How dare he attempt this act knowing his mother was near by…now he will go to jail for attempted armed robbery. It does not matter that the gun was not real because the victim thought it was real.

As soon as she grabbed the gun she should have beat the sh*t out of him in front of the store owner. Maybe that would lessen his time behind bars for being an idiot.
You know that was not his 1st time using a toy gun, but it would have been a 1st time for him catching a “beat-down” in the public eye for the world to see!!!

I feel sorry for the mom as well….Like the person said previously she did not want to see him locked up for 25 years and have to have the burden to be the one who accepts those collect calls that add up…sending him the little money that she does not have in order for him to be able to survive in jail and have the heartache of her son being in there in the first place.I think that there should be some punishment though.If he was bold enough to go in the store waving a fake gun what are the chances of the next one being real?

I’m from Mississippi when I saw this on the local news I thought to myself..this 22 year old man is as dumb as they get! His mom could have done a better job at raising him when he was younger. Trying to intervene now was too little too late. He did not have respect for his mother being in the car and trying to rob the store clerk. He got what he deserve and that was to be arrested and serve time. I bet this was NOT his first offense. IDIOT! They arrested his aunt who was in the car also because there was warrant out for her arrest.
