My friend Pascal Robert was kind enough to send me a link which properly exemplifies white privilege. It’s a tale of two men, both of whom refused to show their I.D. to the police, one white and one black.
In this first video, a white man is carrying a gun when police approach him, apparently because they’ve received calls about a kid walking
up and down the street with a gun. Here’s the description for the YouTube video:
Cop stops a man who is legally carrying a gun under the open carry law. The man refuses to identify himself to the cop, and points out case law to the officer to justify his position.
And here’s the video:
The white kid, who is walking up and down the street gun in hand, is eventually let go by police after pillorying the officer with questions.
Now, watch what happens when a black man refuses to show his I.D. to a police officer for what the white police officer called an “infraction.” The black man was tasered for his refusal. The police officer never offered a reason as to why the black man in the video should show his I.D., but the officer did become very temperamental and defensive when asked to provide a statute which gives him the right to request I.D. from someone who hasn’t committed a crime.
Also, note that the cop who tasered the black man pointed the taser directly at his heart, as opposed to some other part of his body. Tasering has been known to cause heart arrhythmias that sometimes lead to death.

I am disgusted with the treatment of Black Americans both in the past and at present times. I consider myself Privileged to have been the only white guy on the sports teams I played on. We were together all the time,broke bread together, slept over each other’s homes,wept over the loss of our teamates that died too young. I had the privilege of serving in the USMC in Viet Nam and witnessed the most courageous acts on battlefields by everyone. And by the way, when the s**t hit the fan, we fought for each other’s survival, also in the USMC, there is only one color, that color is Green. My best friend in country, on October 5,1968, was killed in battle. We medivac’ed him out, and he died in the red mud and red blood later that day. He was a 19 yr old black young man from Chicago, I called him, Stokley, because his last name was Carmichael. If you know anything about Black American History, you will recognize that name I called him was infamous in history.
You take a race of people enchain them, abuse them, for hundreds of years disrespect them, abuse their civil liberties, deprive them of the American Dream, stop them on their own doorsteps, key in hand from entering their own home, allowing children to die in the streets of the good ole USA! Packing a bag of candy in hand, there is something gravely wrong and illegal happening.
Let’s talk about voting. For years, they were shunned away from the voting booths. Now, certain states in the country, are requiring picture ID’s to cast their vote. I know, remember, I’m a White guy, this law thry’re implementing is directed towards the minorities, whether you be for it or against it, I know a lady like Rosa Parks A GREAT LADY, would be shaking her head and saying “NO”, you are singling us out once again! I know she would be proud of Miss Viviette Applewhite 93 yrs young, wheelchair bound, African American woman who lives in Pennsylvania, opposed this new law and took on the system. She lost her case in court but, isn’t it ironic, it made it easier for her to get thru the bureaucratic maze to get her ID. Congratulations to Miss Applewhite, she stayed the course and won in her own way. To Miss Applewhite, if she should read this article, may I make a small suggestion? Have a bumper sticker or T shirt made:

In my own mind, I can’t think of a race of people that have gone thru so much for such a long period of time. What an amazing and powerful fortitude and kinship that Black Americans share.People around the country,Open your eyes, what stands before you is a great awakening. You’re allowing an opportunity to prove we are all equal. I submit to the world, a people deprived so long are truly strong.
In closing, I really hope and pray that we as one people, can rectify the injustices that are done on a daily basis. We are all Americans, privileged to pass on to our children our way of life.
That way of life is to pursue a strong and unified country.
Mud slinging, misquoting, upstaging, distorting the truth is like the old song: “My Dog’s Bigger Than Your Dog”. What’s happening in Washington, DC, has me glued to CNN. So much bickering and pointing fingers when you should be reaching out to shake a hand and say, “We have our differences, but we owe it to the American people as a whole to do the job we were destined to do”.
Remember what Mom said: “Play nice”.
P.S. Forty four years ago,I lost a friend for life. When I put my head on my pillow to sleep, I still say: “Good night, Chesty Puller wherever you are”. I also tell Stokley I always think of you, not one day goes by without missing you.

Comparing these 2 incidents isn’t fair. The Caucasian more or less said more tactful things to the officer. The Moor there erred in asking the officer to cite a statute when he should have asked if he was being detained, charged or suspected of committing a crime. He also didn’t state that he did not consent to search, or arrest but instead said ‘don’t hurt me.’
In the first video the man let the officer know he was dealing with someone who would likely sue him personally for violating his rights and the guy in the second video showed that he wasn’t quite there with his knowledge of the law.
Instead of asking a police officer to do a lawyers job of citing a statute he should have been the lawyer and cited the statutes himself or the laws, that protect him.
Its not really about race as much as about KNOWING your stuff. Ive seen plenty videos of “white men” get brutalized, even those declaring their rights etc.

no black organize….this is the only problem..blacks are organize to fight the war that the white men are taking to them…..they are hiding behind the badget….how do you deal with this…first who is this man or men..then you can deal with them..but you are not doing to beat them without organizing….and knowing….what there names and their children names…and fight in the dark…and if you don’t know what that mean then….

Yo, this is f****d up, I felt the same way. Because I watch white folk on youtube carry unloaded weapons and don’t have to show their I.D. and when a black man gets pulled over he got to show his I.D. This is racial profiling at its core. You Black Churches ain’t s**t for letting this happen to our people d**n it! Yeah I said it! You “Boule” Muthafuckas! Everytime when their is a problem in the black community they send you “Boule Mawhos” to calm down the situation like nothing never happen and look for forgiveness against the person who done either a crime or injustice against us. I’m not happy when I view these videos about our people and nothing is not done but just get reported by the news. Its a shame! This is why the movie “Hidden Colors” came out and “Hidden Colors 2″ is coming in the fall. To expose you d**n church folk with your lies and dogma about our history. I’m tried of this s**t! What the f**k happen to you old folk! I thought yall change some s**t in the past with the Civil Rights Era, but nothing is change , s**t got worse. Over the past 25 years since I was born nothing but black bodies stack from what I call this “Matrix” we black folk is in. The white folk don’t have to do the murdering no more because our community is program to the frequncey (sound waves), full covert snitch-a*s buck negros, the Boule and to keep the negative vibes going so they can recieve a pay check. While our babies is dying in the street by our own people. You old negros should be a shame of yourselves for letting this s**t happen. The root starts with you! Now , I have to carry a heavy load fixing problems in our community so our young men and women can be properly educated with the tools for success. d**n it ! It’s not about playing sports and music no more, We need doctors , lawyers, lobbyist, buisness leaders, and education mentors in our community. f**k a job, we need careers for our people. We don’t need no more, thugs, gangsters, “Boule”, pastors, drug pusher,drug addicts and everything that is negative that can not give us progress. We need better change and I think change will come. But it all start with us fathers out here to rise up, take a stand and protect our families and start educating our people first.

Amen and also we know that willie lynch has put the bigeest of all curse’s on us he said that it should last between three hundred to one thousand years now thats a curse and its that ! that we fight everyday to try and take off our brothers and sisters its getting harder as we start to wake them up from thier sleep, i hear you brother fred, you know like i know if things were in balance we would not let thses beings continue to overpower us yes we need to protect our families with our lives i have no problem with no more preach and s**t ! now it’s (do or die) i dont want to end up in the new internment camps prison concentration camps, because all roads are starting to lead that way, our women need to wake up alot faster we need them more than ever in thier right minds

With the exception of New York which has ‘Stop and Frisk’ on it’s Law Books which is an Un-Constitutional Law by the way. No other State has a Law requiring you Legally to show I.D. to a Police Officer. This is not a communist Country where Law Enforcement can walk up to anyone and say show me your Papers Comrade and you have to comply. They have to provide a Law that you broke in order to stop you in the first place. If you have broken the Law they don’t have to ask you for Id in the first plact because you will be searched if you are under arrest. It is not against the Law to not speak to anyone in the United States including a Police Officer. Even if you are under arrest or being detained. You STILL don’t have to say anything to them. There is no Law in this Country that a Cop can charge you in front of a Judge – He or She refused to speak to me your Honor that’s why I arrested him/her. No matter how much they yell, get upset, because you don’t say yes Boss, whatever you say Boss like some modern day f*****g slave whenever a Whiteman or anyone else with a Badge says something to you. It is not Illegal not to speak to the Police. It is illegal to lie to them. If you don’t say anything there is nothing they can charge you with. On a deeper level I hope everyone who see’s this understands something that my Mother, Sister and various girlfriends who are of course Black seem so clueless about at times. The fact that in this society the Black Man is seen as always wrong and needs to be whipped or put in check. Even when we are technically right we are still wrong. Being a Black Man in this society is like wearing a Freddie Kruegar or Darth Vadar costume whereever you go. Even though common sense tells people you aren’t actually Darth Vadar or Freddie other people still get this attitude like they are supposed to treat you like you are even though you haven’t done anything wrong. Doesn’t it strike anyone as odd that a Black Woman who with this man during his supposed infraction standing right next to him, filming this entire incident is treated for the most part like she is invisible during this entire thing. If she was with him the entire time, didn’t she cross the street at the same time and the same way the Black Man did? What kills me the most is that when we address these issues with our women sometimes our own family memmbers are quick to say s**t like ‘what did you do wrong’ as if they don’t get this new Jim Crow treatment. I was wrong because I had something to do with being born with Black Skin? It always use to amaze me how during our College years the same punk a*s White boys who used to second guess everything I’d say, speak to me like an 8 year old or literally treat me like an escaped convict that just broke loose from a 1970′s episode of Good Times where the same ones trying hard to have s*x with my sister and kiss her a*s? These types of stories don’t mean anything to new to most Black Men. The question is solutions. Over the last decade or so and especailly since Obama got elected it has gotten so much worse that I don’t even speak to anyone White anymore unless I have too. Because they all seem to have that attitude of they wish I didn’t exist but at the same time they and other races love the Black Community’s Money. Then what cracks me up is that whenever you bring up this topic on so-called ‘white forums’ like Youtube, it’s attack the victim (the Black Male in this video) deserved to be treated like an animal because of fill in the blank, but not because he did anything personally. Or the idiots who don’t want to blame him for not doing anything wrong but are so trained to act like slaves they say well all he had to do was listen to the Officer. So when I White Man tears a Cop a new a*****e for breaking the Law that they are sworn to uphold, he gets a pat on the back as a “good” Patriot but when a Black Man does it, he is an mouthy n-gga? What people don’t see is the seething hatred that has grown within Black Men for this kind of treatment that is at a Boiling Point. It started with Dialou, Sean Bell and now we are at Trayvon. In our minds it’s who’s next? This place is ready to blow and all the people who refuse to see it or do anything other than blame the victims of it are in for a rude awakening. It was easy to get away with alot of this bs with a buffer kneegrow in the White House. Society could sit back and large and say see, we aren’t racist it’s in your minds we elected a Spook. Occupy Wallstreet, Bombing Libya, Home Foreclosures, Escalating Wars, Destroying Civil Liberties and Civil Rights all went smoothly because too many Black People had their Waiting to Exhale moment when Obama won. It’s gotten worse and it’s going to continue to get worse until everyone gets their wake-up call. You would have thought an un-armed teenager walking home after buying some Skittles and Iced Tea would have woken this Country up. But no. Even then, America didn’t want to give up it’s White/non Black privilege of being able to put in check or kill a Black Man without any type of authority. They still blamed the kid or as Geraldo would put it his ‘hoody’ despite the fact of Zimmerman saying n****r in the f*****g audio. How does this effect us? During the Casey Anthony trial after the verdict, I remember I was at the grocery store and two White Women were having a conversation getting visibly upset in front of me. One of them asked how I felt about it. I said, I feel the same way about Casey Anthony and her daughter, that they would feel about me if someone killed me. The look of disdain told me everything I needed to know about this Country. I as a Black Man am supposed to care and love more about people that hate me than I do about myself and I am wrong for feeling or thinking like that. Let it burn.

This is some South Africa apartheid B.S. and Florida is in need of some serious law changes and the only way for that to happen is for people to stand up and take these kind of police guys all the way to the highest courts in the land…no quiet out of the way settlements… pull the whole covers off these law breakers. Both and then all three of the poe lice committed crimes against a citizen who by law was not required to produce their I.D. since no crime had been committed nor was he under arrest. Apartheid in the first degree.

The outcome of this case is they may charge that brotha and then the brotha is going to have to bring evidence in court to show what they done to him and how the different treatment they give white folk when they dont have to present their I.D. I just don’t understand it either on how white folk can walk around with weapons and not show I.D.

Ay, Yo! Add Hawaii to the muthafucking list too, they dont like us black folk down their becaus eof the media, They think we are trouble base on the hip-hop generation, their perception of black people is very negative and majority of the people who live in Hawaii is uneducated and speak a worse english called Pigeon. They can not pronounce a full sentence. Plus, you will notice alot of old black women down their who are “bag ladies”, it makes you want to cry. I think they have been experimented on. Now that I’m older and wiser to think about it again. Im from C.A. and I travel around the desert states, But I have to keep this real, I caught more racism in Hawaii then anywhere I ever been on this earth. That is one place I tell black folk not to go , you might as well go support our own people in the islands that need our money. Why go to a place where you are not wanted. It does not make any sense at all.
