Most people would agree that committing an assault on anyone is wrong, but what’s worse is committing an assault using the Good Book. The Bible is intended to be a guide for living, as taught by Jesus Christ. It is not, however, intended to be used as a weapon to harm or hurt others. But when all else fails, people tend to hit one another with whatever is handy, and in this case, what was handy was the Holy Bible:
We often hear of the term “bible thumping” in reference to conservative Christians imposing their beliefs on others but Ina Garret has been arrested in a case where she was literally thumping her bible.
The alleged victim of her “bible thumping” is Rev. Leon Taylor of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Selmer, TN, a city 100 miles east of Memphis. Taylor is also alleged to have taken a swing at Garret but fortunately for him, he missed or he may have had some charges to answer to as well.
The 64 year old woman is now facing assault charges for allegedly hitting the Reverend in the head with her bible amidst a dispute in their Baptist church.

I guess the old saying: NO WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER…well, the bible was her weapon.
