They were supremely indecent for saying it, but at least they were decent enough to apologize. The Republican Party in Vermont has been put in the cross fire for putting up a racist Facebook post that implied that every black or brown person who supports President Obama is ignorant. The post is disgusting, as you might expect, and sounds like the kind of thing you’d expect to see coming from the Tea Party.
There isn’t much of a word on where the post came from, but it was posted on their page and captured by the media. Posts like this are also interesting because they show us where the mindsets of many Republicans and Tea Partiers actually are.
A Republican Party chairman in Vermont was forced to apologize Monday after a racist post appeared on his GOP county Facebook page.
The Facebook post, published by the Green Mountain Daily, read:
Just wanted to let you know — today I received my 2012 Social Security Stimulus Package. It contained two tomato seeds, cornbread mix, a prayer rug, a machine to blow smoke up my b**t, 2 discount coupons to KFC, an “Obama Hope & Change” bumper sticker, and a “Blame it on Bush” poster for the front yard. The directions were in Spanish. Watch for yours soon.
