Everybody Back Up: Aretha Franklin Says She Wants to be a Judge on American Idol

When Aretha talks, everyone listens.  Aretha is the standard bearer for all aspiring musicians and any great female singers coming up today are compared to her.  What’s even crazier is that she wants to bring along Patti LaBelle to make her case as backup.  Aretha says that she would like to be a judge on American Idol, and we dare anyone to disagree with her.  The woman who was named the greatest female singer of all time has thrown down her gauntlet and for some reason, at the age of 70, she wants to get back to work.

It’s hard to ignore when the Queen of Soul speaks up and says that she wishes to be recognized.  Aretha Franklin, the standard-bearer of all great singers young and old, has told the powers that be that she would like to be considered as a judge on the next installment of American Idol.

This week, the show lost two of its judges, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.   Both announced that they would not be coming back next season.  Enter Aretha Franklin.
