Detroit Mayor Dave Bing is Pressured to Clean Up the City’s Economic Mess

Former NBA athlete Dave Bing loves the city of Detroit.  It’s only love that would convince a financially-secure senior citizen to take on the kind of stress that Bing has been dealing with to save his beloved metropolis.  Bing has had to cut $100 million from the city’s unionized labor force, which is going to be tough  under any administration.  He is being attacked left and right, but seems to be sticking to his guns.

We pray for Detroit.  The city seems to be plagued with violence, misguided youth, unemployment and a very weak educational system.  The fact that “our people” live there hurts us even more.  Let’s hope that the city and its leaders can come together to find solutions to these problems.   BlackBlueDog.com tells more:

The financial crisis of the city of Detroit is legendary and has its leaders looking for solutions wherever they might exist.  Mayor Dave Bing’s plan to save his city is bringing more pain, but some think there is no other way to get it done.  Bing has introduced a plan to cut $100 million dollars from the city’s unionized workforce as a solution to the city’s financial problems.

Included in the deal is a 10% pay decrease and higher cost for healthcare.  He also wants to limit the amount of overtime that workers can receive.  Firefighters and police officers are going to see cuts in their pay, and Bing has had his eye on those cuts for a very long time.  Of course, Union leaders are not happy with the changes.

When Coleman Young was mayor, he DEMANDED economic input for Blacks! He had his faults like ALL mayors, but at least he helped his people!

Detroit was BOOMING when he was mayor. Plenty of jobs, the BIG THREE, were hiring and working 3 shifts 24/7. Motown was jumping and Blacks controlled their money in their neighborhoods.

Blacks had big time restuarants, jazz clubs, and people stepped out CLEAN! Now, all you see in the D are blue jeans and white tee shirts!

There’s old money in Detroit and those caldeans, arabs, caucasoids and khazars ain’t gonna let it go.
