First Lady Michelle Obama got up close and personal with the US Olympic men’s basketball team this week. After the team posted a 98-71 victory over France, the first lady was there to give hugs to every member of the team, heightening her status as a lady of the people.
Mrs. Obama got applause from the crowd and the players took this opportunity to show their patriotism. After shaking hands with the team they’d just manhandled, they turned to the first lady to greet her as well.
