Nobody knows much about what’s going on with big Rick Ross these days. He suffered some seizures a while back, and people are wondering if he’s ok. We are really concerned after hearing that he let himself get sued for $2 million after refusing to show up for a concert in Nigeria. Ross says that he was concerned about his safety, which makes sense, after the country has been rocked with bombings this year.
You think that the hood is dangerous, but it seems that rappers can also get killed when going overseas too. Also, there was that crazy case with Nas and his promoter being kidnapped in Africa earlier this year. At the same time, it’s not good business for ol Rick to simply miss out on concerts for which he has been paid. Reason4Rhymes.com tells more:
Nigerians are not too happy with Rick Ross right now; in fact they are so unhappy that they are suing him. Ross, Tawanda Roberts (his sister) and Michael Lighty (his manager) are being sued by a United Kingdom promotional company for nearly 2 million dollars in damages after the star canceled his 2011 concert in Nigeria. UK-based company Zons P.R. who organized the business between Ross and Nigeria, filed the lawsuit in the Supreme Court of New York on July 3rd.
Ross was set to perform at the Star Mega Jam, a concert that has typically drawn 50,000 people since 2000. The concert is the largest in West Africa. Rick Ross was supposed to headline the concert on December 17th, 2011. According to the lawsuit, Zons P.R. negotiated with Tawanda Roberts on Ross’ behalf.
