Sheman Hemsley, best known as the great “George Jefferson” was a living legend.  His show, “The Jeffersons” was the longest-running sit-com with an all-black cast in the history of American television.  From 1975 – 1985, George Jefferson had us falling out of our chairs laughing, for a total of 11 seasons an 253 episodes.
