All Grown Up: Vanessa Simmons Offering a New Line of Swimwear

The Simmons kids aren’t babies anymore.  Vanessa Simmons is offering a new line of swimwear, and it seems to be catching the interest of the media and potential consumers.  Vanessa, Angela and her brother Diggy are all putting together their own careers that lie outside the shadow of their famous father, “Rev. Run,” aka Joseph Simmons.  The family business seems to be growing, and the kids are on the move to add to the family fortune.

After her success with launching the Pastry brand with her sister Angela Simmons, Vanessa Simmons is headed in a new direction.

Vanessa will debut a line of swimwear at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2013.The line is called Rose by Vanessa Jean– a name the “Daddy’s Girls” and “Run’s House” star initially used when she created her line of corsets.

“I named the line Rose because when you look at a rose it’s very pretty to look at and smells great. But if you look closely, there are thorns all up and down the stem and to me those thorns represent our flaws [as women] and our story, all which makes us imperfectly perfect,” she said in an interview with Black Enterprise.
