Without Admitting Whether She’s a Lesbian, Florida Lt. Governor Apologizes for her Remarks

Florida Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll has gotten some interesting reactions this week from Lesbian groups, who feel that she has insulted them with her recent remarks.  She also must deal with the fact that some people are accusing her of being in the closet.  The irony of a conservative Republican being in the closet is nothing new, but it still burns those who grow tired of being attacked for their sexuality.

Can you really blame them?

With Carroll firmly positioning herself as someone who hopes to one day become governor of Florida and perhaps something better, this scandal puts a real monkey wrench into her political plans.  It’ll be interesting to see how she squirms her way out of this one.

KultureKritic.com tells more:

On Thursday, the Lieutenant Governor of Florida issued an apology for her offensive remarks about lesbians. Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll said she was sorry for saying that black women who have those relationships don’t look like her.

Carroll was perceived to be implying that black lesbians are not attractive women, such as herself. She made the remarks in response to court documents that said that a fired staffer alleged that she had walked into Carroll’s office and found Carroll and another woman in a “compromising position”. The other woman was a travel aide of Carroll’s. Carroll has vehemently denied the allegations.

Personally, I don’t see anything attractive about Carroll. She looks quite made up. Ergo, I have no idea what she meant by her statement, but hopefully, she’s not implying that her looks are superior to African American lesbians in general. Now she has black and white lesbians on her a*s because of what she said. Also, she should realize that white women are jealous that’s she in a position they feel belongs to them, and that the occassion is ripe for putting her where she belongs. Homegirl can’t explain her way out of this situation.
