Just Scandalous: Study Finds that Women Cheat as Much as Men

A new study throws a monkey wrench into the old stereotype that men are the cheaters and women are always the victims.  It turns out that women are getting out there nearly as much as men and that they have a long list of reasons for doing so.  So, the next time we read about a celebrity divorce that makes it appear as though the man is getting around and the women is staying at home baking cookies, we might want to take a step back and see things for what they really are.

It’s a new day and a new way of living. According to a study conducted by Indiana University, women today cheat at about the same rate as men. The study found that 19% of married women and 23% of married men reported cheating, practically closing the cheating gender gap. The study predicts female infidelity may soon rival or surpass male cheating. Even more interesting, the study found the common age for married women who are cheating is 45, while the common age for men is 55.
