Randy Jackson Out as a Judge on American Idol

It looks like Randy Jackson is on his way out as a judge on the show “American Idol.”  Jackson is leaving the show on his own free will, but will remain involved as “a mentor.”

TMZ says that some people inside the show don’t want Jackson as a mentor, saying that he would be terrible at it. But they feel that he is a necessary component to the show to keep it all together.  His replacement is expected to be Nicki Minaj, who says that the deal is nearly complete to secure her for the show.

Mariah Carey is allegedly not a big fan of Nicki Minaj and doesn’t want her anywhere near the show.  The producers feel that the tension will make the show more interesting for viewers, so they are egging it on.  VH1 taught them well that two black women fighting on TV is always going to be a show-stopper.

The group is aiming for a country music singer to fill one of the seats.  Maybe in two years when the show is gone, no one will stop caring about how a show fills its list of judges.   It’s just a TV show.
