Artur Davis Goes Off on CNN’S Roland Martin, MSNBC

In an interview with right wing blog The Daily Caller, former Alabama Democrat turned Republican without a home, Artur Davis,  lashed out at both MSNBC and CNN’s Roland Martin. Davis is upset at MSNBC for not carrying his speech, and apparently livid at Roland Martin for tweeting that Davis is a  ”punk” who is afraid to come on Martin’s  show, Washington Week.

“MSNBC made a conscious marketing decision, with the exception of [Joe] Scarborough’s show that they are going to be an organ of the Democratic Party and it appears in the way we interpret the rules these days in terms of broadcasting — they clearly have an agenda in their coverage with the way they put things on the air,” Davis said.

Roland Martin is one of the few Commentators not afraid to speak his mind. I do not know who this Davis person is, or what he has done for his constituents. He seems to be a disgruntled ex Democrat out to do damage to those he believes wronged him. In that he is no different than Clarence Thomas. My guess is that the Repugs, were willing to offer him some bucks to come over to their side and he accepted. I noticed that Colon Powell was not asked to speak at the Convention (or either he declined), and neither was Bush Junior. If Davis does show up on Martin’s show, my bet is that he will be chewed up and spit out.

Black Alabamians saw him for what he was, an opportunist whose main concern was his personal ambitions. That is why they did not support his run for Governor.

Nellis, you have hit the nail on the head. His own statesmen will have nothing to do with him because the know him for what he really is.

I believe former Congressman Artur Davis’ move to the Republican Party resulted from a personal beef with President Obama not returning Davis’ calls or consulting with the Black Caucus over the last three years. I think it was a stupid move by President Obama to ignore the representatives of his most ardent supporters.

Does anyone know Artur Davis’ voting record? He votes like a conservative. Always has. Look it up. A large population of Blacks in Alabama refused to vote for him. I don’t know why, but before I make any statement supporting him, it would be good to find out. It might have a lot to do with what he REALLY stands for. As for moeblues’ comment, the Black Caucus supports President Obama. If you know for a fact that this is what is upsetting to Autur Davis, don’t push “the lack of consultation” as the reason. The President has been lied about enough.

But Why Target Roland Martin and The Media? Because Arguably,The Importance of The Media of Mass Communication To The Survival of Democracy,Especially With The Basic Concept of a Representative System of Government,Cannot be Underestimated…The People Need To be Fully and Accurately Informed To Enable Them To Choose Their Governors or Representatives in Congress Wisely…There is Therefore a Crucial Link Between The Media and Government Democracy…The Dissemination of Information To The People Being The Common Denominator,Adequate,Accurate,Unbiased and Fairly Presented Information…It Stands To Reason Then,That The National Media Corporation Rationale for Targeting The Government-Owned Media Primarily Derives From The Fact That They are Funded either Wholly or in Part With The Tax-Payer’s Money and are Accountable to The People of The United States…The[FCC] The Federal Communication Commission Has Been Emphasizing The Importance of Granting Equal Opportunities to All Parties to Disseminate Their Ideas by Giving Them Equal Access.

With the exception of MSNBC the other American news channels allow Republicans and their teabagger cohorts to lie, and lie some more about about the Obama administration policies and positive accomplishments – without any challenges from the complict rightwing so-called journalists. A lie repeated often enough becomes truth for the ignorant racists and semi-literate folks married to a reactionary ideology.
