A man in Georgia was arrested for pretending to be a doctor. The doc is accused of stealing another man’s identity and using it to practice medicine, treating as many as 500 patients in the process.
Ernest Osei Addo is being accused of pretending to be a physician, putting the lives of hundreds of patients in jeopardy while falsely practicing medicine. Addo was hired by Agape Senior, a company that operates several nursing homes in the state.
Lexington County Sheriff James Metts says that the man presented a medical license before he began to practice. But a doctor in Orange County, South Carolina says that the man took his identity. He was also charging things to his credit card account.
Addo was arrested shortly after he quit his job at Agape Senior. Oddly enough, he has no criminal record. Police are trying to find out if he has any medical training whatsoever.
Agape Senior says that Addo “came highly recommended from his previous employer where he practiced as a physician.”
