A prominent mega-church pastor has been busted for doing inappropriate things with a 16-year old church member. Dr. Jack Schaap was caught after another Deacon found his cell phone in the pulpit with a picture of him making out with a 16-year old girl.
Dr. Schaap had been the head of the First Baptist Church of Hammond in Indiana for 11 years, but has been let go after the allegations surfaced. The board of deacons voted to fire the pastor, “due to a sin that has caused him to forfeit his right to be our pastor.”
It appears that the church has a governance structure that allows bad pastors to be removed.

Why is it always Pastor’s of MEGA Churches that are the worst offenders? Are they so impowered to believe they are above all laws?

The Deacon Board did a just and honorable thing. They cited the reason: “….forfeited his right to be our pastor (paraphrased) due to a sin he committed, which is unacceptable.”
I appreciate the governance structure that protects the parishioners from sin-weakened and ungodly leadership. May the Church heal, may the young lady heal and live a full life and may God bless this Deacon Board who are fulfilling a very serious place in the ministry sector.
