A mother was shot and killed in Brooklyn on her way home. Three other people were also wounded in an incident that has shocked the community. Someone opened fire at 9 pm on Thursday, killing the 28-year old woman and wounding several others. Fatima Gordon was loved by her relatives and her death is part of a seemingly endless wave of senseless violence all across the country.
“My niece is a wonderful girl,” said her aunt. “Please not my niece. God, take me. She was just coming from the store. Her birthday is Saturday. She’s a wonderful mother – why her?”
The scene was described to be chaotic after the shooting, with people getting their loved ones to the hospital amid a frightening set of circumstances.
“There were six or seven shots,” said Kevin Fraser, 25, an office manager. “A woman was lying on the ground. She wasn’t moving. Another woman was tending to her and screaming.”
The mother was rushed to the hospital, and died en route. In addition to Gordon, a 13-year old boy was hit in the back, a man was shot in the stomach and another man was shot in the forearm and buttocks. Police do not yet have a suspect.

People, we need to get rid of all those rap records, that glorifies violence, and demeans us by calling us n*****s. These young people are trying to emulate, what they are hearing, and actually believe that their lives, and ours are worthless. When I was young, if a person called you a n****r, that was fighting words. There were very, very few, if any, instances of shootings. That was back when it was “I’m Black and I’m Proud”, but now it’s “I’m Black and I’m a n****r. How many more of our people must die, before we wake the f**k up? During World War 2, the Nazis, used propaganda, and other mind altering tools to psyche their soldiers to murder innocent people. Well we now have rappers like 50 cents, Little Wayne, Jayz, and the rest of that ilk,using rap music to alter our children’s minds, by glorifying violence, telling them that our women are nothing, but b*****s and whores, and that it is nothing wrong with shooting a n****r. These filthy rappers, have made billions of dollars, at the cost of the destruction of the black mind, and our community. Also, we need to rid our communities of these filthy gang members, by informing the police of their activities. You can do this anonymously to avoid any reprisals. Also, the next time someone approaches you about signing a petition to release criminals from prison. Tell them to go to h**l!

That tactic never solved anything. We have a generation of overly emotional acting dudes, raised by a bunch of single hood rats and crackheads doing this violence. The key to ending it is for REAL men to step up and end it. Period.
