The Man Who Cries In Silence

The Man Who Cries In Silence

Trying to learn about what goes on in a man’s mind has not been an easy task these last few years.  I have faced ridicule from women who think I’m too soft on men. On the flip side, dealing with men that are unable to deal with their own truths or those of their male [...]

Now I know why the author’s last name is Word, because what she wrote in the article is true. I have said those same things for years, regarding how we men are constantly told directly and indirectly that men are not to cry. It is the reason why so many men, not just black men, but men of every race can sometimes be emotionally distant from their lady. I have noticed that when I smile on the train or laugh (while on the cell or reading a newspaper or a book), people look at me as if I am an alien from mars. It is as if they expect me to look and be upset, because seeing a black man smiling and laughing is strange to them.

Also, if a woman has an issue because her man cries, then she is the one that has a problem. I am not talking about guys who are wimpy or act funny; I am talking about the same man that Ms. Word was referring to in her article…the “supposedly unshakeable. These are the men people rely on to be there when they can’t handle things – they are the rocks, the foundations, and the burden bearers.”

We have to remember, Jesus wept and cried and He is the true example of the natural man (The real burden bearer because he took on the sins of man and triumphed). I would also like to point out that contrary to popular belief, Jesus was not scrawny, as man likes to picture Him in movies. Neither was He effeminate. Jesus was a carpenter for 30 years, which meant that he was a built and muscular man.

There was a guy who I went to grammar with, and hadn’t seen for several years. When I did see him he was 6 years into the same profession as the Lord, and the guy was built like a truck. I asked him what gym he went to and he told me that he doesn’t work out, and that all he does is constuction. If the guy was built like a house just off of 6 years of constrcution/carpentry work, I could only imagine what the Lord looked like off of 30 years of the same profession, without the help of machinery, which my friend had. Jesus Loves You! God Bless You.
