The women’s gymnastics team eclipsed the competition as they soared to take the gold in the finals
The U.S. women took the prized gold with an overall score of 183.596, followed by Russia with a score of 178.530, and Romania with a score of 176.414.
The women’s team, comprised of Jordyn Wieber, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Kyla Ross and McKayla Maroney, were split into teams of three to cover the balance beam, uneven bars, vault and floor. It was no easy task, but these young ladies made it look as if grace had taken flight.
Sixteen year old Gabby Douglas and Jordyn Wieber led their team to gold with near perfect performances.
