Harry Reid Says Investor Told Him that Mitt Romney Hasn’t Paid Taxes in 10 Years

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev) has made a very damning claim against presidential candidate Mitt Romney.  Reid says that a Bain Capital investor told him that Romney didn’t pay any taxes for 10 years.  Reid explains that this is likely the reason that Romney refuses to release his tax returns to the public.

“His poor father must be so embarrassed about his son,” Reid said.   Reid was referring to the decision of George Romney, Mitt’s father, to release 12 years of tax returns when he ran for president in the 1960s.

Reid said that he didn’t hold Mitt’s wealth against him, but clearly took issue with his decision to avoid taxes.
