Christian schools and Homeschoolers Concerned Federal Policies Take Away Autonomy

Christian School leaders, including the homeschoolers and private schools are concerned that federal education policies will take away their autonomy.

A federal program called Race to the Top has a competition that states can enter to win education grants. In order for states to compete , they must agree to comply with the Common Core State Standards Initiative (CCSSI) standards without knowing the specific details of those standards.

Maureen Van Den Berg, legislative director for the American Association of Christian Schools, spoke to the Christian Post about her concerns saying,
