s****l abuse in the black church is a taboo subject that makes many feel uneasy- which oftentimes creates denial. Despite settling in court for alleged s****l abuse, Bishop Eddie Long is still leading a large congregation at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Filmmaker Ya’ke Smith penned his film titled “Wolf” before the Eddie Long scandal became public. Drawing from the experiences of his friends, he penned a movie that candidly brings light to the s****l abuse that occurs in the black church.

Thank you for putting this out there. I, along with several other young girls that “grew up” in church with me, were molested by the pastor’s son. I always felt others in the church knew, but no one said anything. I was nine at the time. To make matters worse, my aunt started dating him. Needless to say my aunt came home and caught h messing with my little cousin. The police were called and he went to jail
. I would like to finish telling you what happened, but i would like a more private talk. My family is going to be really angry with me for sharing this, but what people don’t understand is that when a child is sexually abused, that child has to deal with that EVERY day of it’s lifr. I’m a LIVING witness. Some of us are not that strong

Please pray that the victims receive counseling for these traumatic experiences and the perpetrators are sent to prison!
