The MIT “brainiacs” have been at it again, using their superior math skills to run a scam.

Ten years ago, a professor and some students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology were able to extort money from Las Vegas casinos by counting cards. Now, a new scam team has emerged again at MIT. A researcher and some students have run a scam on the Massachusetts Lottery.

The researcher and the students were not the only ones behind the scam; the Massachusetts Lottery knew and was also cashing in on the scam.

It is a scam if the lottery commission, who the article reports was aware of the certified winnings of the students and did not stop it, is making other people, who are not aware of the students’ findings and certified winnings, think they have a chance of winning when they actaully do not. If you read further it said… “the MIT group had created a new system which guaranteed them a win with just one drawing.”

The keyword there is “guaranteed.” The lottery is not supposed to be able to gurantee anyone or any persons a win, that is why it is referred to as a game of chance, and not a game of guarantee. Which in turn is why many people play it. Without it being a game of guarantee it is then seen as being fair because no one knows the game’s true secret.

Nevetheless, gambling itself is a sin. The Bible does say “…your sin will find you out” (Numbers chapter 32 verse 23).
