This week, President Barack Obama was criticized for stating that he is “not the president of Black America” during an interview with Black Enterprise. The interview centered around critiques from those (myself included) who feel that the president hasn’t done enough for the black community during his tenure in the White House.
Shortly afterward, Rev. Al Sharpton told the Daily News that he was glad Obama stood up to those who say that he hasn’t done enough for black America. Sharpton was critical of individuals “in the black academic and media community” whom he feels are pushing for more from President Obama than they expected from Bill Clinton.
