A 32-year-old woman in Chicago appeared on a local news station claiming to be the estranged daughter of the deceased actor. Marquea Ambrose claims she and Duncan hadn’t spoken for 11 years. “The only thing that really bothers me about him passing is that we didn’t fix [it],” Ambrose said. “That’s the only thing that I hate. I hate it but it doesn’t bother me that I’m not mentioned.”
Sources close to the late actor are claiming they have no idea who Ambrose is and that she’s trying to extort money from Duncan’s estate. “Michael did date Marqay’s mother, but he believed he was not her father,” a source revealed. “He was in the hospital for 53 days, and she never once reached out or tried to talk to him then. It was the day he died that she started calling his mother saying ‘I want what’s mine’ and trying to get money from her.”
When reporters reached out to Ambrose, the woman claims that she is not trying to extort Duncan’s estate. “She seems very opportunistic to be making the calls now, especially to his 93-year-old mother on the day her son died,” the source close to Duncan said. “Why wouldn’t she have tried to visit him after he had his heart attack? Why didn’t she try and reach out to him while he was alive? It all seems like she just wants money and didn’t ever care about having a relationship with him.” Duncan isn’t the first celebrity to be the target of extortion. In May, iconic artist Stevie Wonder faced an extortion plot when a man claiming to be the product of an incestuous relationship between Wonder and his sister demanded that the music star pay him $5 million not to sell the salacious story. However, the man was arrested in a sting operation and he confessed that his allegations were false.
