Ask Black America: What are the Four Biggest Issues that Plague Black America?
One of the critiques that many black Americans have about politicians at the local and national level is that black issues have been left on the back-burner. Many African Americans are very loyal to the Democratic Party, even though many of the issues that affect the core of black America were left entirely off the Democratic Party’s platform. Issues such as poverty, gun violence, overcrowded prisons, unequal educational systems and black unemployment have hammered millions of black Americans, but these topics rarely receive an audience in Washington.
So, we took to our Facebook page to ask YBW readers this question: If you had to name the four greatest problems in black America, what would they be?

Ignorance, is killing us. Many suck at being healthy, keeping our finances and having good credit, and having any self discipline especially when it comes to waiting until marriage many enjoy just being promiscuous… Sad state of affairs in the black community!!!

Oh I forgot, A Jewish real estate mogul and his wife invested 40 million in the construction of a new county hospital in Greater Indianapolis. If you are familiar with a county hospital system, who mainly uses those hospitals? Answer- people with limited means and no health insurance. The total cost of the venture is about 450 mil. It will be named after him- Askenaz Medical Center( the biggest investor). I researched the investors in the project and I couldn’t find one Negro of the Illuminati( y’all know what I’m talking about?)that gave one rat azz dime. I drove past the construction site numerous times and there are blacks working their( some with the white hat and tool belts on). Beautiful place and state of the art. Now I’ve named a white and a Jewish philanthropist that dumped large sums of cash to help our communities, name me some Major projects of substance around the country that our elites have made happen(Jalen Rose just opened The Jalen Rose Learning Academy in Detroit and Judge Mathis just graduated his first 150 students form his new community college and technical school he opened in Detroit also.Can y’all find more of these concrete examples? 1. The lack of a firm Economic Base(Pan-Africanism).2. The inability to educate and train our own people(78% of all teachers are white/female). 3. The lack of any banking system to loan our own qualified( and some with some bumps) monies for home ownership and business start-ups. 4. The failure of our elites to invest(venture capitalist) in our communities and extract and nurture all the good ideas and hard workers that exist inside of them( Warren Buffet went to the “hood” in Indianapolis and invested 25 million in a major apartment development that will entirely benefit black people- and the jobs provided in the area of construction helped black people. He was on TV stating how proud he was of this venture). Stop Idolizing those whom don’t truly understand how to rebuild the community and why its profitable if they help to do so but they want you to go their stupid plays and buy their stupid songs( the Magic Johnson theory).

The essential thing us black people must come to grips with is action! Action has three stages: the decision born of thought, the order or preparation for execution, and the execution itself. All three stages are governed by the will. The will is rooted in character, and for the black man or woman of action character is of more critical importance than intellect. There is no one silver bullet that addresses all the black ills; but if we could get our young people to finish high school and stop the 50% or more dropout rate, we’d have the beginnings of a workforce cadre to significantly improve black financial possibilities and address the excessive rates of povetry in our neighborhoods!!!!

If you’re unaware, Black women are now the number one carriers of the virus in America. What good is all the other stuff mentioned if you’re not going to be around to enjoy it if you die from HIV.

All i got say is every person black, brown oar sky blue should watch DROUP-OUT via PBS.ORG.
I Watch it and it was sad, some of these young Blacks have a lots of family problems and the Teachers are trying to help them work through them, they are not having, so they stay home and play games and blame the White Man for holding them down.
I also read an article “Preying on the poor”, what happen after to young blacks once they enter the criminal system and come out and try to build a life for themselves.
This article you will have search for it because its not on PBS.

Every time I read article in this publication that refer to black American. it make me nauseated. Black American problem is not unique to just black people in America, the same problems is universal for black people everywhere. The reason why the problems continue is because we remain victims of the white world conspiracy of devide and concor.
We in America feel that we are different from other blacks in the world, and that is a major part of our problem. I belive it is the root cause of many of the thing that hold us back.
Yes we as black Americans are in a unique position to promote our problems but we are devided internally and devided externally.Becaus we live in the west we believe we are better than, and that thinking cause great riff between us and other blacks. That is something that we must deal with
Until we get our act together and understand that we are black people where ever we exist in the world. And begin to understand that discremination against black people in America, is the same discremination against blacks everwhere.
Stop being ignorant and start working together to be able to get solution to our problem as a race.
Marcus Garvey saw it for what it was racism against blacks, and started to work toward solution, but who stood in his way and sold him out the African Americans.Instead of picking up the mantle and move the idea forward, we joined force with his enemy to destroy him. We are not unique, we are just more ignorant and selfish without any commitment to the greater cause.
We all go to the bathrooms and do the same thing other black people do, weather in Africa, or the Caribbean. We are more of a problem than a solution, because of our ego, greed, and selfishness.
As with everything else, we as American believe that we can solve the world problems and in most cases we make it worst because we never listen to the opinion of others. Example, the state of Isreal,came into being, because of one man the man was a black man Ralph Bunche. His work and effort left us with a legacy that will one day destroy the world. He did not spend his effort trying to solve black peoples problem or to make things better for us, he spend his time and talent solving Jewish people problem, and look what we have to deal with today?. A n**i thinking Prime Minister, who is trying to intemidate the first so called, black president to continue to oppress others. Why becaus he believe that they own and control black peoiple thoughs and decision process through intemidation. So the tactic that were used to influence Ralph Bunche, is the same tactic being used to force president Obama, hands.
If we spend enough time focus on getting to know what impact blacks universally we may start to getting results. They count on our division to work in their favors, because we have been indoctrinated on their history and philosophy.And for some reasons we love headlinesand a pat on the a*s, or the back, saying here is a good n****r.Instead o using our talent to organise our communities of blacks around the world as African united, for a better cause for ourselves, as a part of the bigger world of black people, who are united against, white racism. That racism come from Europeans, and Jews alike. As black peole we are all victims. In the crisis of racism, we have no friends.As black people we are all victims of RACISM. Let’s start developing our own agenda, not what others percieve to be our agenda, nor what European see as our agenda.For one time in out lives let’s see our self as one race that is oppressed by the same system that brought us all into SLAVERY, Be energised, and fight for us as a race, becaus that is how racism is applied against us.The white race do not descreminate against us just as African Americans they descreminate against as black people.

The LIE claims thousands of ships were used to bring African slaves to America; Where are the thousands of slave ships?? There are none and never have been. I agree with you that all African American descendants were not slaves, even though some came here as free Americans. Even white Americans can be traced to indentured servants as they were called. Except for Native Americans all other people emigrated here from somewhere else. We can hold on to that knowledge and build from it, not let it hinder our sense of self. You made a very good argument that needs to be thought about more seriously. Thank you.

Every statement about black people is universial, that we are some very negative messed up people, One reason, we are missing many of the cultural traits that other races have. History, language, country, culture, knowledge. American blacks heard of Africa, but embrace america as their home, that rejects us.Blacks crave for acceptance and spend their money as a tool to barter for it. If one is weak the best thing for him to do is kiss the right behind, that has the money and power, until they can come toghether collectively. As it stands blacks would be in a h**l of a shape trying to “do for self” Idealistic as you may sound Derrick, we would kill each other at a much faster rate, until we are forced into survival or subjugated by another race, that would treat us worse than whites. So I read your post brother and you blow off a lot of hot air in the knowledge you acquired and against whites, who realy don’t give a d**n about you cussing. We are not a homogenous group of people, beside dysfunctional black family’s that have stifled black growth in all areas of our lives. Dubois thought political activism and socilism would solve the problem for blacks. Booker T. Washinton, felt a strong economic progrom would give us the political strength for change, which I belive is right and needs to be applied through the black church.
