Some Alabama prisoners allege that they are unfairly penalized for being HIV-positive and have taken their accusations of discrimination to a federal court. On Monday, lawyers from the American Civil Liberties Union began arguments in a Birmingham court on behalf of approximately 250 HIV-positive Alabama inmates whose rights, they say, are being violated under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Pop star Elton John, founder of the Elton John AIDS foundation, wrote a letter in response to the inmate’s tribulations.

This disease should not be in prison but because you have men and boys who are being raped over and over again because they don’t have protection from prison officals and then there are those who are having s*x with men for pleasure and they pass this virus from one man to another and now they want to say they are being mistreated well they wouldn’t have it in the first place if they weren’t committing homosexuality and forcing themselves on others
