An Ohio woman is so horrified by a recent revelation that she has had to seek therapy.Valerie Spruill found out that her late husband was also her biological father. A DNA test has confirmed that 60 year old Spruill was married to her father, Percy.
The Doylestown, Ohio resident has three children and eight grandchildren. She is now on a mission to find her other siblings from her Father.
Speaking to the Akron Beacon Journal, she said,
“It needs to be told, because children need to know where they come from. And I know it hurts, because I have been devastated by this.”
Since she was three months old, Spruill has been taken care of by her grandparents. Her mother was what she calls a “night-lady” and her father (also her husband) was only 15 years old when he was intimate with her mother.
Really??

That is why all people should know who their fathers and mothers are. From the time we were children, my mother has always asked whomever we dated, who their parents were. I think that was just a southern thing; but luckily, she did ask this girl my brother had just met. We were born in Alabama, but had moved to New York; and she turned out to be our 3rd cousin! That year (1969), my mom established our annual family reunions.
I feel really sad for this woman. The worst part is that her husband has so many children, HE needed to ask.

Reminds me of a story of a couple not married yet nor had they slept together thank goodness!) who went to a family reunion together and when they got there they both walked up to a guy and said, “Hi dad.” That just would have been weird.
